If Tennessee loses to uga and bama wins out the regular season (which they probably will),
Imagine a crazier scenario of Bama winning out, TN beats UGA, and Bama beats UT in the SECCG....

3 sec teams making the playoffs?
THIS
WILL
NEVER
HAPPEN
For any conference. For any reason. (until expansion)

Is there any scenario all 3 make it in
NO

The SEC Champion will be the only SEC team in the playoffs this year
Maybe
I think their recent history will potentially give Alabama or Georgia the benefit of any doubt.
Given that Alabama already has a loss? I think Georgia is the most likely team that could fail to win the conference (lose to either Tennessee or Alabama) but still get into the playoff. If Tennessee lost in the conference championship game they might need more help than voters would give them.

the playoff committe's entire history, not just recent, shows that if you don't win your conference you aren't making the playoffs over a P5 winner with an equal or better record.
So, if the SECCG loser were to make the playoffs this year, it would ONLY be because of multiple losses by other conf. champions.

I’m a texas fun, but I follow the sec after the big 12
It's starting to make sense now.

Tennessee won at home, on a last second FG, after Bama missed, with Bama having 17 penalties and an injured QB….
The committee would take Bama over Tennessee if Bama wins the conference and UT is sitting at home with 1 loss

Clemson should go undefeated, but if they lose to UNC,as long as they don't have another loss, then UNC would get in over another SEC team. Whoever wins the Big 10 will get in. Whoever wins the SEC will get in. TCU can run the table and would likely get in over Pac 12 champ, although if UCLA wins it undefeated, then I think they go ahead of a one loss UNC. Just doesn't seem like a year where any conference will have two teams in it, let alone three.
It took a lot of things happening that final week last year for UGA to still get in.

Can texas be the first 2 loss team to make the playoffs?

Ucla is still undefeated and can still get in if they keep winning. Tcu also. The Michigan or Ohio state winner and the Clemson and Syracuse winner. These teams will have to fall apart for it to be more than 1 Sec team.

And if history is any indicator the all those teams will shat the bed and bama will prob walk into the playoffs without winning their conference AGAIN.

12-1 SEC champ Bama is in. Then 12-1 UGA if there's another available spot. I think both Clemson and TOSU finish undefeated.
