The most logical choices out of the realistic scenarios for Arkansas would be A&M, LSU and Mizzou.

this looks good but replace Arkansas with Bama for LSU.
I just don't think the conference is gonna get rid of this game.
TV wont let this game go away.

The problem is Mizzou.
LMAO
We have rivals. There are teams that lie within this conference that have none. Mizzou has a pretty good one brewing with South Carolina but we will see if we get it. The SEC loves giving us the FCS win with Arkansas though.

Seems strange someone would suggest Miss St as a rival for OU.
Posted on 8/22/25 at 6:26 pm to ChadThundercock
We aren't playing Tulane every year

Not one team should have MSST and Vandy as 2 of their 3.

Who would Texas get as their 3rd if not Arkansas? Texas-Arkansas has a lot more history to it than Arkansas-Mizzou does.

That’s really the only oddity I could find here. Everyone who’s close to OU has other teams that would be priority. Texas and Mizzou would probably be guaranteed but the third is up in the air.

Never understood why they wouldn’t. If you’re going to play a G5 team like Troy, UAB, Southern Miss, etc. every year, then you might as well schedule Tulane. A matchup with history behind it, limited travel costs, and with the ability to pack a stadium. I think this would mean a lot to older generations of Louisianans.

And no one wants MSU as a permanent rival. Would much rather have Texas.

Auburn are you sure you want those as annual?
We have had them since the last reset.
Also I think Vandy Kentucky and Miss St should be annual the rest of us will be fine either way.
Just would like to see more SEC teams get a bowl game.
I remember the Pruit years yuk!!

I hear Texas Tech has been getting a lot of cash recently.
They will probably run the Big 12 soon

Absolutely. Honestly a better trade-off then playing Alabama, UGA, A&M and LSU every year regardless like we were in the SEC West.

You did a great job of maintaining the big rivalries and hitting the geographic footprint.
As a Gators fan, I love that you added Auburn to our annual 3. I'm showing my age but it was always one of my favorites every year. It will be interesting to see which annual non-conference teams are selected by Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and A&M.
LSU is scared of Tulane, so I don't see that happening. They would also have to add another Power 4 team. I would think they would select Houston because of their large alumni base there. Ole Miss would also need to find another Power 4.

I don't really feel a rivalry with Missouri. Would rather have LSU because we have a love-hate with them. He hate them and they love whippin our arse. Once we get that turned around, ooo-lah-lahhh.
With Missouri, they're just kind of "there." No hate, no real anything.

I think the Thanksgiving game of LSU v OU will become a big hit. Only problem is so many cajuns will be watching this game they're liable to run out of crawlfish. Just from eatin fists full of them out of nervousness. That and cognac.

My scenario has Arkansas with Texas, Oklahoma and Mizzou. While LSU has Ole Miss, Florida and A&M.

I'd like Uga, AwwBarn, and Cackalacky. Before 2012 conference expansion, Aubie was a permanent game and they are the geographically closest SEC school to Gainesville so I miss that game. I reside in the middle of the Carolinas and SCar is the next closest school to Gainesville and lots of SC has swamps, marshes, palmettos, spanish moss, humidity, food, and the lowcountry culture akin to Northeast FL so that's a nice fit. The LSU game is perhaps my fave game but they're further out west so I'd prefer the closer schools as permanents. Please no Kensucky as they lack enthusiasm and are far away over yonder dem hills up north, haha. Bayou trash Bengals and hillbilly Vawls would be next for me after the closer Barn and Cackys.

why wouldn't LSU & Arkansas end their season with one another?
