thanks to OU & Texas. Our fans need to get ready for it 'cuz it could happen. Not a sure thing, but it's possible.
I hate this and I know CKS wants to end it due to how it affects our recruiting, etc., and even Florida is not objecting to it, either, now.

Anyone out there know if the OU-Texas game in Dallas would become affected in terms of it going to each school's home campus instead of staying in Dallas? I haven't heard/read anything about it.

Losing the WLOCP is just unfathomable to me.

College football would survive losing that yearly matchup

The game would still be played, but at each school's campus instead.

It's the tradition of being played in Jax and everything.

First played in Jax in 1915 and every year since 1933 thereafter ('cept for '94 & '95 for Jax renovations).

No....college football would not be the same.

Meh. Moving to home and home helps us more than them.

It would survive but a very special game would be sorely missed. There isn’t a game like the cocktail party in the entire country. It’s a week of partying at the beaches and a game between bitter rivals where the attendance is divided 50/50. Thousands without tickets show up to tailgate and watch the game from their tailgate TVs. It’s unique and a great tradition. And thanks to Texas and Okla it may end

Everyone just needs to be thankful that most of us saw college football in its glory days. Those days are long gone and they're never coming back. The tribalism of the sport we loved is dead.

Eh. It's not even the 2nd biggest rivalry in the SEC right now.. It'll be cool if it goes away.

Texas-OU will stay in Dallas. How is it our fault if you guys stop playing in Jacksonville?

What do new members have to do with the location of your game?

To answer your other question, no OU/TX will never go to home and home.

What makes you think that might happen? There's nothing about this expansion that indicates that. In fact, if we go to the 3/6 scheduling model, with 9 games, having a neutral site game makes more sense than ever, as you will never have a year where you have 5 true road games (4-4-1, instead).

The SEC didn't bring OU and Texas into the conference for that game to be played anywhere but the Cotton Bowl during the State Fair.

Big rivalries will be preserved, as long as the Kentucky's of the world don't win out and keep us to 8 games (in which case, we'll have the 1/7 set up, and a lot of traditional games will go by the board).

I wouldn’t mind seeing a 4-4-1 format but I don’t think each school would have a neutral site close enough to accommodate attendees.

UGA and UF have Jacksonville; OU and TX have the Cotton Bowl. Alabama and Auburn used to play games at Legion Field but that complex was crumbling and located in a bad area. Ole Miss and MSU had games in Jackson, usually against each other but also against LSU (at least in the case of the former). SC has played games in Charlotte but that’s usually against non-conference opponents (I think they play the other Carolina there to start the upcoming season). There’s probably other examples that I can’t think of atm, but does every school have that opportunity?
