Do you recall what the # was last year? Might blow your mind.

As for our defense? Our recruiting has always favored defensive players, and Gergia rotates our defensive players more than probably any team in the country, so there will be a ton of experience returning. Granted, we don't expect to be at the same level, but we have so much offensive production returning we think it should even out.
That’s a nice way to say , yes we’re losing a lot

Yeah. He just hates Georgia. I am very familiar with Smokeyone. Seems odd thta Alabama (apparently) broke Auburn to the point that we are their #1 rival now and it appears as if Tennessee has given up on Alabama and we are their new #1 fixation.
With Auburn sporting a 5-16 record against us in the last 20 years...and Tennsee sporting a 6-16 record in the last 21 years.....how long until they both give up on us and turn their attention to Kentucky or Mississippi State or somebody?

Maybe you didn't read it correctly.
You do understand that the reason y’all won last year was D depth right? Y’all were able to out roster teams and wear them down. It wasn’t great coaching or great scheme, just superior recruiting and massive good fortune with the schedule.
But enjoy the **National title (didn’t win the conference)

Having one of the most explosive and efficient O’s played certainly helped.

Ha ha, you are so pissed off. Never before have you been so wrong, which says a lot.

A good TE in Bowers and a couple of decent RBs is hardly a great O.
3778 passing yards looks impressive (for UGA til you realize that was 16 games against a God send schedule (236 yards a game) hardy the air raid O by any stretch.
Not going to quote the other part. Your football ignorance is and been demonstrated to this board.

Check our elite yards per play, and that was with throttling things down in the 2nd halves.

Auburn - 6-6
Way too damn high. Auburn will literally be playing with probationary numbers this coming season with the attrition and lack of commitments we’ve had. Some of the projections I’ve seen have us in the range of 70-75 scholarship players for 2022. We will be damn lucky to sniff .500 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see us with a 4-8 or 5-7 record.

This guy is so mad. So invested in 1980 and “Kirby can’t win it all” and “you need a dynamic QB” and “he’s just like Richt” only to watch it all blow up on him.

Says the guy who thinks the 2nd best yards per play in power 5 is not elite.

I’m happy for UGA fans for finally catching enough breaks to claim a national championship post Carter administration. I’ve always had a strong opinion that you must win your division and conference to make the playoffs. So it’s diminished a bit for me.
My issue with DJ is in the 15ish years I’ve run across him on forums he has repeatedly demonstrated that he lacks a basic understanding of of the game. He’s moved from cherry-picking stats to unrealistic assumptions about the game. I mean, congrats on getting over the hump but gets not pretend it was more than a really weak schedule combined with great recruiting providing enough depth to out roster teams and an incredible break being given a playoff spot.

You are just tired of me pointing out how often and how badly you are wrong about uga.

I would have thought he remembered 42-21.

Yes. You do know thta we still have tons of defensive depth, right?
quote:And Iw as under the impression that superior depth was coaching. Coaches aren't responsible for their rosters in your mind?
It wasn’t great coaching or great scheme, just superior recruiting and massive good fortune with the schedule.
I think I may have found Tennessee's problem from the past 23 years.
And by the way? Alabama's roster was more talented than ours last season. How did we beat them? Injuries? We had a ton of injuries to many key players, too.

I don't care if we didn't win the conference. Crap. Alabama has a title when they didn't even win their division and another one when they didn't win the conference.
But hey. I get it. Tennessee would just be happy winning a conference much less a title right now. Trouble is, Tennessee is not close to winning either.

unrealistic assumptions about the game.
Really? wasn't this your assessment of who would make the National Championship game?
Real playoff this year SEC Winner 12-1 Bama VS Big 10ish winner 12-1 Michigan No other teams needed...
And your take on why Bennett can't win the National Championship?
Heupel is smart enough to play the QB that gives them the best shot to win. Given the 14 stars spread over 3 QBs the obvious answer isn’t the 2 star walk on that’s vertically challenged with a noodle arm. ...
Tell us again who doesn't have a grasp for football and has unrealistic assumptions for the game?

Remember when he said our main flaw was lack of qb depth and then our backup qb led us to the national title?

If I were a betting man I would ask him his takes on each of our games then go place a bet on the opposite of what he says.

I see SC finishing better than 6-6. we did that this year with a far worse roster
