I wore 00 in all intramural stuff in college. But I always preferred double same digits. Baseball growing up I tried to get 33, in football until highschool I wore 55 or 77. In college fencing I wore 11.

Probably because the only real reason it bothers you or anyone is because it stands out from tradition. It’s similar to when people freaked out over lineman wearing single digits and before then when the numbering system no longer told you the position. It’s change and we get set in our ways easily but after a few years no one will think a thing about it anymore be we’ll be used to it.
