Both Lee and Jefferson were putting up 40+ points on everyone besides the first Alabama game.

That is much different then the current QB situation.

Also, IMO- should have stuck with Jarrett Lee throughout, and at least given him a chance in the NCG

No they weren't. Defense and special teams were putting up about half that on return scores and great field position.

Uh, it's actually quite similar.

Lee threw some TDs but the defense led the league in scoring and the ST was insane that year

unfortunately, you are wrong on this. It is very similar.

LSU will be a better team next year
WR's more experienced and QB play will improve
All skill on offense was very young and bringing back Hawkins and Alexander was huge for oline

Defense will be better as well

LSU wins 10

This is debateable. Based on talent, they shouldn't be worse, though.

Scored 40+ in 9 games, other games were 19, 35, and 38. Scored 9 in first Alabama game, 0 in second.

Led SEC in scoring offense that season at 38 ppg. Went 13-1.

2014 went 8-5 scoring 27 ppg.

Exactly! They are both bad QB's. What was different about the Bama team? A passrush and Lee fricked the F out.

If Lee played in the NCG he would of thrown a bad pick early in the game and we would of been out of the game earlier. Lee < Jefferswag

Incorrect.

Alabama's 2011 tGOAT defense led the nation in scoring that year at 8.2 points per game. LSU was second and allowed 11.3 points per game.

Now, look up the special teams scores, defensive scores and average starting field position on scoring drives so you can actually comprehend what we were talking about.

Last time I checked, field position didn't = points on board. It helps, but it is the responsibility of the offense to get into the end zone. I remember the Honey Badger scoring multiple TD's that season, but scoring still falls on the offense.

If you don't understand that good field position is a huge factor in points scored then I don't know what to tell you.

Also, if you don't understand that, you should probably refrain from making threads like this which require a basic, at minimum, knowledge of the game.

Starting at your 20 < starting at your opponents 20.

Starting at your 20 gives you 0 points. Starting at your opponents 20 gives you 0 points.

Does it raise your chances to score? yes. Is it a given score? No. Therefore, the missing piece to the puzzle is the offense. Last time I checked.......... 38 > 27. Which at the end of the day, is indeed the point.

It's pretty clear this guys understanding of the game is limited to "scoring points is good".
