Uh, no. Those teams were on a completely different level from this year's Alabama team or LSU. Out of the two, LSU has a much better chance of being competitive against those teams because they can create turnovers, score points in many different ways, and are very efficient in the red zone. Alabama is none of those things which is why they have no shot at beating historically great teams like '95 Nebraska and '01 Miami.

Tap the brakes. Tap 'em again.

Now pull back the emergency break and put it in park.

No one is comparing Alabama '11 to the best teams in college football. I know it's been fun riding on LSU's coattails as "the top 2" all year. But Blah Blah Bama is not int he discussion for best teams.

They already have a loss.

Oh -- and when LSU wins, we're going to say "no" to a best 3 of 5, even though we'd be "honored to do it." Guys have classes and shite.

He had 200 yards passing and 30 yards rushing in last year's Iron Bowl. Yes he hit two big passing TDs with one against an injured safety who was in position to make the play (and no I'm not taking away what happened on the field but it wasn't an awe inspiring pass if the guy was covered; the play was made because of the defensive player's physical ineptitude, not because of a great pass) but hardly a dominating performance, especially if the best team in school history won by 1 against a team that was, experience-wise and statistically-nowhere near the caliber of this year's edition.

2010 Auburn beat everyone they played in 2010. They wouldn't have beaten any of the other SEC BCSNC teams.

95 Nebraska's offense would play in in LSU's favor. The speed on the edges would make a difference against the option. 01 Miami? Seriously? Are you crazy? No team has had more talent in the history of college football! Now 04 USC & 05 Texas would be interesting games, very interesting games. I don't think 11 Bama would beat any of these teams. USC & UT gave up a lot of points so as opportunistic as LSU is on defense LSU could win those games. 95 Nebraska i believe would have trouble, LSU's defense is just tooo fast! 01 Miami, is enough said! I mean don't get me wrong we are judging them as college players but it would be dellusional to say LSU would beat Miami.... Maybe in Tiger Stadium at night with their QB injured. The 2 thing LSU has working in their favor though are the most important things & where Championships are won, Offensive & Defensive lines! So a chance versus any team, problem with Miami is they had 0 weaknesses on Defense and backups who are in the NFL!

This! The speed + size would hurt any option team, especially with time to prepare! My only problem would be how would be score and i guess it would be like the Bama game, special teams would win it for us. Brad + Drew + TM

IMO - Neither 2011 LSU or Alabama will be considered one of the all time greats when it is said and done.

They both dont have enough offense to be considered.

couldn't start a thread talking about CFB's best teams ever w/o including them. Believe me, I know how good that team was (11 first round draft picks).

95 Nebraska, possible

01 Miami, impossible

01 Miami was possibly the closest NFL team you could see in college.

Alabama will not.

LSU already has.

Miami 2001 was the greatest talent-wise but i still think Neb 1995 is the best team of all time. I also think 2004 USC, 2005 Texas, and 2008 Florida were right there too.

I think any of those teams would beat 2011 LSU. I'm not even going to discuss the 2011 sec west runner-up when talking about greatest teams.

Lsu could still claim the greatest season though.
