Best CBS intro of all time IMO
The only thing missing from the YouTube video is Verne saying “It’s goosebump time in Oxford, Mississippi”
Still the loudest I’ve ever heard VHS was when we got a pick 6 the first drive

Was a heck of a game. I am a fan of the Mannings, but Eli tripping to end his career against LSU was priceless.

The one that sticks out to me was 2001 Auburn @ LSU. The game got moved to december because of 9/11. It determined who went to Atlanta for the SEC title the following week.
Something about watching that intro with the LSU band going through the streets at night has always stuck with me.

Poor Archie
Lsu hung 60 on them when he was hurt and I guess he still hates lsu for that
LSU had no shot at Peyton as the program was in shambles at the time
Eli wasn’t as heralded but ended up with a great career
Arch will have a hard time ever starting for Texas
Not one gave lsu the time of day

Y'all got a banner out of the deal, to boot.

When LSU and Ole Miss are both good, it's as intense as any rivalry in America. The week of that 2003 game was as exciting as I can remember. The 2014 game also comes to mind. It's like a clash of cultures.

CIA officer and Auburn alum Mike Spann was the first American casualty in Afghanistan a few days before the game. For some reason I’ll always remember him being honored on the field that night.
