Over the next ten years, Texas will average 8-4 in the regular season.

Like you, I have OU with a much higher ceiling. I'd say, averaging 10-2.

Texas will basically be Missouri, but without the rainbow wokefest crap. Oh wait, they'll have that too.

THEY ARE MISSOURI

Are Texas and Oklahoma not currently ranked higher than all but one SEC team? In the year immediately prior to joining said conference?

how does this matter for next year?

A&M won 11 games in their first season in the sec despite winning 6 the year before in the big 12. Missouri won their division twice in the first three years. Pretty sure those teams finished in the top 6 rather quickly upon joining this conference

A&M never been to Atlanta in how many years? Mizou went twice in a usual weaker East division with UF & Tenn being down for a while. How has Nebraska done in the Big 10? Colorado in the Pac 10? We have seen what has happened to really good OU teams in the playoffs against the SEC

Missouri will still be hanging on to those first few years in 2050.

It certainly is more credible than any of the “evidence” you put forth…

so your first comment: ”this year doesn’t matter since it’s all about next year”

And then your second comment: “oh yea! Well… here’s all the stuff that’s happened even before this year that’s CLEARLY more relevant since it fits MY narrative!”

IDK if it’s the portal, NIL or pathetic coaching hires, but the league’s way softer across the board than I can ever recall. Florida & Auburn have Sun Belt rosters. Tennessee, OM & LSU have all but given up on playing defense. Guys like Bear, Dye, Dietzel & Dooley are rolling over in their respective graves.

I think you're fielding better and more balanced teams this year than you have over the last several.

That said, the SEC is a grind more than anything. It's that almost everyone on the schedule has 4-5 star talent, and can play with you physically week-in week-out.

Not sure I'd go that far... we may still be recovering from our worst coaching hire since the great depression (Harsin) who refused to recruit and ran off our best WR + 5* legacy QB who is now a heisman candidate, but we are still top 20 on 247 in terms of aggregate roster talent.

tell me how it matters when you went 6-7 the year before?

so you want to ignore how OU has fared against top SEC teams in the playoffs but think in the future will be one of the top teams...that makes sense to you? explain why it does? At least I have given a reason to not think OU will wreck shite in the SEC...based on recent history and how the SEC has made the Big 12 champs look

From what I can tell Auburn’s problem is that you guys have recruited certain rooms well (RB, DB) and left others entirely devoid of SEC talent (OL, QB, WR).

Last year the second place team in the conference finished No. 2 in the country. The year before the big 12 champ beat Ole Miss in the sugar bowl. This year, Texas handed Nick Saban his worst home loss in 20 years (and OU beat that texas team on a neutral field).

But you’re right: when thinking about 2024, what happened in 2018 is infinitely more important than what’s happening in 2023

got blown out by UGA and are an average team this year...kind of proves my point that what happens this year has no bearing on next year.

TCU was the second place team in the Big 12? who was the champ?

So how do games played even before this year matter more, then? That’s been your entire point

You seem kind of upset over this. Sorry about that

Not to mention, you’re an ace at these kinds of predictions LINK

you said this...now tell me how this matters for next year?

the funny thing is I questioned how this year matters for next year and you can't or are too stupid to answer. I use your logic and show how previous years prove that it doesn't matter and yet you still won't answer except to say "look at how we are this year" as if that means yall will be good next year

So if this year doesn’t matter, what exactly are we supposed to use as evidence for predicting next year? Your lack of ability in understanding this is kind of proving why you could only attend LSU

But you certainly nailed your Alabama vs Texas prediction earlier this year, so I’m sure you’re right…

the annoying thing about OU's recent run -- other than losing to them all the time -- is that they almost never drop games they shouldn't. big 12 teams roll over at the sight of them.

i'm curious to see if they can carry that consistency into the SEC

Because the Big 12 sucks. OU is used to being the big fish. Well in the SEC there’s several other big fish and medium sized fish that aren’t scared, either.

Absolutely not. If anything a down year this year in the SEC should worry our new conference members.

Each of the last two time that the SEC was having what some would call a “down” year, the conference rattled off about a decade of complete dominance (following 2005 and 2014).

Next year the SEC is going to be very strong and tu and OU will have more than they can handle.
