difference is big ten east is the weak division, sec west is the stronger sec division, sans uga of course

Purdue is freakin awful. How did they make a bowl. Drew Brees could of started and they'd still lose by 30.
LSU vs USC and Tulane vs Purdue would of been a million times better match-up.
Even Illinois would of been a million times better opponent. Illinois at least has their starting QB, head coach and a defense.

Easy. Big 10 had two teams in the playoffs so their bowl eligible non-playoff teams got bumped up a bowl.
