But Billy did have us block a free throw which was innovative.

It’s a shame Meeks performance is forever tainted by BCG.

I will die on the hill that if BCG didn't abuse the frick out of Meeks while he was there that he would've come back for Cal's first year (Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, etc.) and that team goes to a Final Four with his three point shooting.

I know A&M fans remember Gillispie fondly but in Lexington he became a shitty drunk who did some really shitty things to players that didn't deserve it. He pushed for Meeks to not have surgery on his hernia during the season and the kid could barely walk across campus by the end of the season.

Thank God for Patrick Patterson's Mom who walked in Barnhart's office and told him if they didn't get rid of BCG the whole team was going to walk.

I remember that game vividly. I was on my 2nd tour in Iraq and we were re-supplying at Al-Asad. I think I had to wake up at 3 AM or something ridiculous to watch it.

He kicked one of the players off the team bus in a bad part of town. Told him to walk back to the motel. The rest of the team got off with him and BCG finally let them all back on.

He made Harrelson sit on the toilet the whole second half of a game and after the game.

He was abusive well beyond the normal punishments of running or pushups.

Rupp used sarcasm to motivate. BCG was just a mean drunk.

One game UK was playing poorly and trailed at halftime. Rupp sat reading the newspaper while the players looked at each other nervously. Finally, Rupp stood up and said "OK girls, time to play". UK routed their opponent.

Another time during practice, Adrian Smith was dribbling the ball more than Rupp thought he should. He blew the whistle, walked over to Smith, took the ball and looked at it, rolled it over and looked and ran his hands around. He handed it back to Smith and said "It ain't a damn yo-yo. Pass it or shoot it."

Who was more effective?
