If Tennessee was still that good, Saban and Alabama would be all for dropping the common opponent from the other division.

Wait, we needed OT to beat the higher ranked and favored team at home? Shame on us :(

Alabama almost beat Florida in 1998. We lost 16-10 in a thriller of a game. Beating the Gators in the last couple of years of the 90s wasn't as impressive as it was between 1994-1996.

Its threads like these that show just how awesome the SEC really. Greatest rivalries, history and traditions. Someone else invented football but we really fricking made it great.

You are crazy if you think that's the only time Florida was impressive. At any rate step off our rivalry Bammer. We agree about TSIO but TSIS is between us and Florida.

In a splish-splashing five-minute span to close the first half, the Gators (3-1, 1-0 SEC) made their point before a disbelieving crowd of 108,722 at Neyland Stadium. While the Volunteers (2-1, 0-1) fumbled seven times in the rainy first half, Florida thrived under the Swamp-like conditions.

Totally agree. UF and UT both have work to do bringing this one back and we have work to do bringing TSIO back but we're getting there, just not quickly enough.

Korin, unclench thy anus. It was joke referencing your latest cancellation - you do poorly or beg out in big rains. And I'm sure you already knew that already if not then God help you.

Yeah but you refuted that with facts, so then they had to specify what kind of rain they really meant.

Duh.

He knew exactly what it meant or he's a dumbass. I don't think he's a dumbass but maybe I'm giving him more credit than is due.

You talked trash completely forgetting the 02 game and are now pulling the I-was-joking card.

I didn't say that was the only time Florida was impressive. I'm simply saying that Spurrier and the Gators were at the height of their power from a period of about 1993-1996. They lost a grand total of two conference games during that period.

Florida was still impressive from 1997-1999 but not nearly as impressive as they were from 1993-1996.

That's what happens when you go from Wuerffel to a doofus like Doug Johnson.

Edit: Although it WAS funny when he "accidentally" threw that ball at Bowden's head in 99.
