1.4 Billion reasons SEC CCG will not move so quit making threads.

387 million for Foundations and Structure
322 million for Soft Costs and Contingencies
281 million for Buildings Systems
119 million for Interior Construction
100 million for General Conditions and Fees
80 million for Exterior Skin
62 million for Sitework
49 million for Construction Requirements
Unless Houston, Saint Louis, Nashville, New Orleans, or Birmingham are dropping dimes in the neighborhood of 1.5 Billion to 2.0 Billion to pay for a seat at the table then accept the fact the SCE CCG is not moving.

Throw in the following and pretty sure no other SEC city will ever be in the running.
a) Relative center of SEC footprint
b) Keeps ACC out of Atlanta and Georgia for exposure and recruiting
c) College GameDay has been to (5) five SEC CCG's (04, 08, 09, 11, and 12) in Atlanta and (0) Zero B12 CCG's in Saint Louis or Houston.
d) #1 passenger airport in the US with 45 million passengers in 2013 (Houston @ #12 did 19 million and no other SEC city made the Top 30)
e) I-75, I-20, and I-85 all run right into Atlanta
f) #8 hotel rooms (#1 in SEC) ahead of #10 NOLA (#2 in SEC), #14 Nashville, #21 Houston, and #35 Saint Louis.
g) REC doing work to protect Tide fans with original seats from the 90's (just 150 miles from Birmingham to Atlanta)

Not to mention everything else surrounding it and the fact that Atlanta is the boss at hosting elite level sporting events.
Suck it everyone else.
Suck it everyone else.

New Orleans or Nashville could obviously do it, but there is no reason to move it and Atlanta likely does it better than either of those cities can.
When you think SECCG, you think of a trip to Atlanta. That association is very engrained at this point, and with Atlanta being the South's most prominent city, which happens to have the best venue and will have the best venue x100, there is no argument.

It is okay to be in a shithole like it is now then Houston's NRG is more than capable of hosting it. And when it comes to large events Houston is about as good as it gets. The city gets final fours, super bowls, has its own shitty bowl game, all star games, etc.

Yeah and what's the nice part of Atlanta? Buckhead? I've been there and it's very meh.

Atlanta does all of those same things and people who attend the events universally rank Houston in the bottom 1/3 and Atlanta in the top 1/3.
On top of that the "shithole" will not be there in 2 years and the best football stadium in the country will be.
Finally, Atlanta is closer to 90% of the conference than Houston.
So, yea. Staying.

Druid Hills, Buckhead, Brookhaven, Mt Paran, Decatur. There are plenty.
The area around the Dome is great now.

The GA Dome is not even close to a shithole. It's a clean, comfortable, modern venue with great sight lines and is aesthetically fine on the inside considering it is a dome. It gets pretty loud and is the perfect size. It's ugly on the outside, but that's really the only bad thing about it.

Midtown, Morningside, West Midtown, Va Highland, Vinings, all the in between neighborhoods (Collier Hills, Peachtree Hills, etc.)
Above the Dome, there really aren't seriously bad areas. I wouldn't recommend you hang out in Lindberg, but you're not going to get shot.

Every year when all the sportswriters go to the Final Four these questions appear.
New Orleans is always #1, Atlanta, Dallas, Indy are almost always in the top 1/3 and Houston, Minneapolis and others are almost always in the bottom 1/3.

I'd rather out of town people continue to not know that there are 20+ in-town neighborhoods in Atlanta that are fun, cultured and historical.

Well if it happens every year it should be easy to find. I think you're full of shite. Dallas sucked it up when they hosted the SB. Houston's when off great.

As long as you don't book a room on Fulton Ind. Bvld. you'll be OK...

I thought Texans weren't sourhern?? They like to think they aren't at least. Why the hell would they want one of their lame sprawled out cities to host the SEC championship?

The only argument against Atlanta is that it isn't centrally located for all SEC teams, and you propose moving it to Houston?

I can clearly remember Dan Wolken, Jeff Goodman and others commenting on twitter during last year's Final Four and the one in Atlanta 2 years ago.
I mean, I'm not arguing with you, maybe they were the minority. But even take that out and Atlanta > Houston for the SECCG in about 7 other categories.
