im really anxious to see how they do without cam, cause honestly i have never seem more of a one man team, i know dyer is still good but honestly without cam last year it would have been totally different, hes a once in a decade player

I wouldn't necessarily say one man team, he did have a great supporting cast as well as the d stepped up when needed. He did will himself to win games and that was a deciding factor. I would even go further to say more than a once and a decade type.

If we can click in the offense, I would say definitely comparable to 09' . It is a wait and see. How will the team gel and who is gonna step up. Pretty much the same question for every college team every year. Some just have more talent to start and less questions to begin. But that's what is great about cfb, it changes so much from year to year and nothing is fact.

I don't think predictions of 6-7 wins is ridiculous.

I don't either.

Seriously the one man team argument?

Not a one man team argument, but the "We just lost the best player in college football that single-handedly beat teams like LSU" and we won't be as good argument.

At least I'm talking football. What's wrong with that? Do you want to disagree with me on anything? If not, then exit the thread and go to the IM Thread.

So it was just cam newton on the field, nobody else correct?

Pathetic. We won't be as good obviously. But we sure as heck won't be shite.

So "insert any player at quarterback" and he runs for 217 and throws for another 87 and he's such a focal point that every single player on the field is better because of it? Gotcha.

I can't wait to see Trotter do this to LSU next year and AUtigerNOLA to come back to this thread.

OK. 2009 AU and 2011 AU may be very similar. 2011 AU could even be better.

But history tells you that after winning a national title there is a little complacency.

Also - and this is huge - the 2011 schedule seems way tougher.

MSU won 9 games last year.
@ LSU who won 11
Alabama won 10
@ Arkansas who won 10
@ SC who won the east and 9
@ Georgia who is going to be better
Florida who is going to be better
@ Clemson, which won't be easy

So yeah... that is the main reason in my mind why 7-5 looms.

That's the good thing about losing so many players, a lot of them didn't even play much.So I don't think they will get complacent. the schedule on the other hand sucks balls.

One of your many, well thought-out flames. I commend you. I think you're the only chick on here that flames more than you talk football.

Why would I be worried about that game at this point? It's about seven or eight down on the list of worry.

I can't even believe I'm getting involved with this emoticon troll, but frick, you can't be serious.

The complacency and entitlement usually comes from the younger players.

Also, I disagree with your assessment on the secondary.

The pass efficiency defense at AU in 2009 was #31 in the country, and grabbed 17 INT to 19 TD and allowed 56% completions and about 6.27 YPA.

I don't think the secondary will make THAT big a jump from the debacle of 2008 with so many young players in the 2 deep.
