The game was 45-42 heading into the 4th quarter. Had we not made the incredibly stupid decision to scrap our entire defensive scheme for that game we would have won.

I admit to being a bit confused as to how scrapping your defensive scheme led to scoring 0 points, and giving up the same number of points than you did pretty much every other quarter.

Do you mean scrapping your OFFENSIVE scheme? At least that makes sense in this context, even if it makes no sense to actually DO.

Auburn ran 74 times, and passed for 11. There was no real question what they were going to do, but Mizzou still had no real answer. Tre Mason probably passed out from exhaustion after the game (46 carries).

All I'm saying is had we simply played the same scheme we had played (with good success) all year I believe we would have won:

I dont believe any scheme would have stopped that offense. We only got slowed down once all year and that was by LSU in the stiff dew.

That offense was pretty much unstoppable. When a team rushes for over 500 yards, its not a scheme. Its getting man handled up front. Which you were. Im sure Pinkle knew the scheme better than any of us and if he could have changed things to slow us down, he would have after we got to 200,300 and maybe 400 years rushing.

Your only choice was to out score us which you couldnt when we made a few plays on defense finally

We had 530 yards and 42 points. The offense had a great day. Just kind of ran out of steam.

Maybe so, but again...we were (I believe) second in the SEC in YPC coming into that game. We had a good run defense.

Shut you down? No, force a few punts and hold serve enough to have 42 points win the game? Yes, I believe so.

We played that game in a 3 down front which we hadn't down one single time that entire year leading up to the game. It was a terrible decision and making matters worse we never got out of it when it was obviously being shredded.

I know this is all sour grapes, but it's not rant trolling. I truly believe we fricked ourselves and that's not taking away from Auburn. We WERE that good. Still stings to this day because those type of teams don't come to Mizzou all that often.

Tennessee is done honestly.

In terms of national prominence anyway.

They are orange cornhuskers. The similarities are striking

they at least have some in state talent. nashville is one of the larger growing metro areas in the country. they have an in state base they can still harvest. nebraska doesnt have shite

Yep. I remember that . Hell, even Gary and Verne were saying there is not way it would work.

But our offensive line was pretty good and even switching to the 4/3 would not have slowed us down much. That combo of Marshall , Mason and Prosch was very difficult to stop.

Personlly, I would have stacked the box until Nick beat you with the pass. Just to keep what you knew was happening from doing so

Mizzou joined the SEC in '12 so stats should reflect those from a weaker conference.

So that's two seasons w/10 wins slick.

Besides, there are 2 other 10 win seasons in this equation. It wasn't playing in the mighty SEC but they still happened. We've been 1 game away from the national title game twice in this time period and y'all want to act like we are Kentucky

Lol calm down. Nobody respects you—Rodney Dangerfield made a career out of this!

No, it's 4 dipshit. They do play football outside of the SEC. I promise, it happens.

Why not? You base your knowledge of football outside the SEC on Mizzou's run in the Big 12?

Pretty weird dude...

...but don’t compare them to Kentucky! Lol

You “don’t give a frick”

Yet you can’t stop whining for respect.

Did you audition for Clueless back in the 90s, or do you naturally sound like a 15 year old girl?
