Actually, it does depending on the circumstances. If you're Tulane or Utah it matters even if you go undefeated. For Alabama, however, playing in the SEC, it shouldn't really matter in the NC race. But it is relevant in determining or predicting how good a team ACTUALLY is compared to other teams that they are yet to play. Again, if Bama beats or hangs with Florida and wins their bowl, than it proves otherwise the overrated notion.

Lets see, considering the schedule you've played and compared to the other top teams around the country this year, than pretty much. A lot of teams would be undefeated right now with your schedule, so lets see how you play against some quality teams first. I personally don't think Alabama is as good as advertised. Well, considering I don't remember many of the details from that game I'll try and recall a few...we rushed on you at will, for something like over 200 yards against your "stout" run D, our running game has proved not so good against other clubs. We stopped your offense pretty consistently and we threw it decently. Like I said earlier, you needed a pick six and a returned interception deep into our redzone for two of your scores. That game was LSU's all the way and we blew it. The interception in OT was a dumb arse QB mistake. It's always better to take 3 than risk the turnover.

Unless my perspective has been that you've played poorly considering the supposed "greatness" of the team. I think that maybe you've played about how many have thought you should have in those games, just not that well...you've beat crummy teams for the most part.

Yes I did, because look at the body of work and teams we defeated that season. Also, look around the nation at the rest of the teams that year. What 2 loss team had a better resume. There was only one 1 loss team to automatically get the one bid. Also, we won our conference. You guys still may, in which case I think you deserve a shot. Hell, even if you lose to Auburn, I think if you guys turnaround and beat Florida or a quality team in a bowl, you've got a good case to make for being up there.
