Highlights: LINK

Joseph Turner. 6'2 Corner San Mateo JUCO. (Roommate of Dominick Jackson)

Him and Markell Boston look like they could be nice steals. This kid looks shutdown just not sure about his tackling.

Possible replacement for Kalvarez Bessent????

Did not sign with Washington State as expected, nobody knows why, and the AUC staff is trying to pull some info together. Tall, very fast, lanky, good in coverage; but tackling is good not great. Another big defensive back this staff is looking at, which is great. He currently does not have an offer.

ETA: He was supposed to enroll early, but missed it by one class - Wazzu decided to move on. Currently has an offer from Texas A&M and it appears Auburn will offer.

If Kalvaraz Bessent doesn't count towards the scholarship numbers, adding this guy would put Auburn right at 85. If he does, then yeah, Auburn will need to process one player.

Probably a guy like Demetri Reese, who was a walk-on that earned a scholarship.

Love everything about this kid except his tackling. If I remember correctly Kalvarez had some tackling issues of his own. Kalvarez would have also had 2 more years than Turner.

Damn it is so nice to see a thread with real talk and actual input. Well done gents...

I want moar. So weary of the troll threads.

If everything that has come out about KB's arrest it doesn't look good for the kid nor his place with Auburn. I do not know much about the other JUCO who committed or Turner. I do like the size, but poor tackling does not excite me too much.

Interesting. Sucks for Bessent. Hate seeing kids make stupid mistakes that cost them opportunities such as this.

I was sad to hear about KB as well, he was gonna be a good one I thought whether it was for AU or Bama. If a kid is raw coming out of JuCo and can play boundary corner well sometimes tackling is not needed as much and can be taught simple techniques that can help a corner tremendously. If an outside CB is doing his job jamming at LOS and shutting a WR down the QB won't test too many times and then it becomes a fight for position and tackling skills aren't really needed on the outside too much.

AU needs it so hopefully the kid sees his opportunity and comes

You can teach tackling. Granted, the fact that he couldn't make EE hurts a lot. Summer camp isn't really enough time to teach a fundamental.
