LT - Robinson, Matulis, Zandi
LG - Rogers, King
C - Waldrop, C. Stadnik
RG - Cann, B. Stadnik

DE - Dixon, Harris
DT - Lamin, Dixon, Jr., Green
DT - JT Surratt, Dukes, Griffin
LB - Roberts, Moore, Cooper (maybe Blue)
LB - Holloman, Lewis, Walton, Allen-Williams

Special Teams
Kicker - Fry, Ard,
Punter - Hull, Fish (but we need to find someone better)

Flip the starting guards, and safeties. I doubt all those guys come back though. Blue is a fullback Unless English puts on some serious weight I don't think he'll start. Also think Lewis will start over Holloman and Diggs over Golightly.
I expect to see several early departures from some listed too

Early departees ... I thought I omitted those.
I doubt Carson returns. I omitted Sport. I omitted Brent and Jeffery.
Who else are you referring to? Quarles is not on the list, he's going early along with Clowney.
Eta: You've stumped me on the Blue/English statement. Blue is a RB, not a FB. He's going to be a RB all the way. Who is the English at RB/FB who needs to gain weight?
Eta2: Oh, I see your period and reference to English being too light in the britches at DE. He's gonna start at DE. He started at DE against Kentucky. He's Devin Taylor-like and he'll gain enough weight to be more forceful in there. He's still got a lot to learn but he is coming along nicely and he'll be ready next year to be a full time starter.

I think Hampton and a TE or two leave, especially with 2 coming in.
And I could be wrong but I thought I read when Blue committed that he'd play FB here.

Blue is either a FB or LB....he has been used a bit as a RB option in HS but he's already near the 240-lb range despite being around 5-10/5-11, and was always looked at as a FB option at the next level. He's played a lot of LB last season though and had 100+ tackles and 6 sacks, and has been recruited a lot by other programs for that side of the ball. He's also been tearing it up on defense this season as well. Here is what TBS said of Blue earlier this month when the Shrine Bowl rosters came out:
quote:
Three-star linebacker/fullback Joe Blue (Dillon/Dillon) was the Gamecocks first commitment of the 2014 class and the 5-foot-11, 235-pounder made the roster as a running back. He could play linebacker or fullback in college.

Also you forgot D.J. Park on the OL. I expect him to battle for a spot on the 2-deep...

Carlton Heard might make a name for himself next season at WR. Devin Washington will play at DE next year not start but get reps. Skai Moore will start at will LB. Bryant will push for real playing time at spur. Hampton is gone Ahmad replaces him, Rico gets the other starting spot. Also keep an eye on Cedric Cooper and possible transfer there is a reason he is third string and it is not because of injury

Forgot about Washington and Park ... thanks for the input guys.
Blue is an enigma. He could play so many positions. His speed and running style lends him to more of a RB in our system although, I agree, he could be the FB behind Davis and Wilds and still contribute as a hybrid in that position.
Another in his mold, that could see playing time at any number of positions, is Kevin Crosby. I keep hearing they are chomping at the bit to find a place for him on the offensive side of the ball, even though he could very-well end-up as a LB.
Eta: Carlton Heard is going to have a tough time breaking into the depth chart over guys we have returning at WR. For all intentional purposes, WR is probably our most loaded position next year, even if we lose Jeffery and Brent.

At the beginning of the season, I was thinking that Busta and Hampton were going to go Pro after this year. Having seen them play so far this season, I think that it's less likely after they get their draft ranking back from the NFL.
Quarles is now in position to leave early if he wants, but I'm hoping he stays. Losing 3 starting DL would suck.

I never thought Busta would go early, even though he had some serious attitude issues where he thought he would, in the first half of the season.
Hampton, I thought he would but I think his stock dropped this season - although they've been on him about his show-boating and, in the process, he's gotten better as the season has progressed.
Quarles is gone. Quarles will be a top three rounds pick and he already knows it ... plus he's determined to keep getting better every game this season. But Quarles is gone provided he stays healthy, and we all want him to stay healthy.
We'll be fine along the DLine next year because so many of the young guys are getting tons of minutes of playing time. I've not seen a participation chart lately but I would suspect it would shock some people just how many minutes the young guys are getting.

Would like to see Jody Fuller show something.
Robinson and Quarles are gone.
I think Roland lands a starting spot. Brock Stadnik has the potential, too. No way to keep Larenz off the field either.

If we get gutted with early departures, especially on the oline i will be extremely pissed. People leaving early to go undrafted or be late round picks is maddening...
I fully expect quarles and hampton to leave early, and i can live with that. In my opinion, anyone else is a stupid decision. Aj cann could get a favorable judgement back from the advisory committee and he should go if its first round. I have seen people saying cory robinson is first round in some mock drafts. That seems insane to me.

Yea it will be frustrating if we have early departures from the oline. It would be beastly if we get 4 starters back next year

Thats what we need. If we lose cann, robinson, and patrick(sr) it could be devistating...

You're right, we're definitely going to lose a TE ... I am assuming it is Owens or Raines but who knows. It could be a surprise.
We're going to lose a few more for sure.
We're going to have to depend upon some freshmen next season, once again.

I'm responding to my own post here because, since it was posted on 10/30, I was told Heard's light came on in November and suddenly his stock has sky-rocketed. Personally, I think that makes it all the more tough for Jefferey and Brent, one of them almost has to go. We now have a gluttony of WRs including one more coming-in with this next class in Shaq Davidson.

Heard's a walk-on, right? Don't know that it would effect the three incoming WR we should have next year. It could definitely help push one of those lesser used scholarship guys currently on the roster to seek work elsewhere though.

So is Whitehurst ... but Spurrier is not immune to using walk-on WRs if they are good enough. (Although Whitehurst is turning-out to be too much of a party boy and if he doesn't get serious he's not going to last long.)
Remember, Spurrier's second favorite player behind Wuerffel was Chris Doering.

True.
Sucks to hear that about Whiteside. Thought he was going to just get better next year. Hope he can get his head straight.

Me too ... but I doubt he will unfortunately. The party kids tend to not change over time. It's been said Whiteside is very Garcia-like in terms of partying.
