Sucks, but if he gets redshirted it's not due to his lack of opportunities to impress.

If that is the case I would feel the same way he does. You cant ask a kid to come in Dec. go thru the spring, summer, and then tell him you're going to RS him. He gave up a lot for that. I wouldn't blame him one bit.

Yeah. I get that, but if you were the coaches and you don't think he is going to play, what do you do? I guess you could always decide on the red shirt at the end of the season if he doesn't see the field.

I couldn't be a coach having to deal with all these young kids that don't know how to deal with issues internally

I agree, but I do think he is the one you RS out of the three. Kailo and Jordan bring things to the table that no one else brings. I do think that the "fair" RS is for Jordan since he is the one coming off an injury but if he is our best goal line back, that's hard to do

If he hadn't gotten to Ole Miss early then I would definitely understand the RS. I think you have a honest conversation with him and his parents. Let him know we care about what is best for you. Explain to him that there are just guys ahead of him right now. We don't want to burn a year on four carries and four or five KO returns.

I think its one of those rare situations where you work with his parents to see what is best for him.

I don't agree with putting it on twitter. But I understand his frustration if that is the case.

He probably would go somewhere and still sit out a year. I think the reason he was upset because he seemed to be under the assumption that getting there early would only help his chances of playing this year. Not RS while Kailo and Wilkins are both playing and both got there later.

What he doesn't seem to realize though is those guys would be more useful in other situations. Wilkins being a bigger back which we don't have, and Kailo having world class speed.

It will work itself out.

I'd be pissed if I were him, too. And being 18 years old I'd probably put it on Twitter. He needs to be cut some slack.

He was heavily recruited by Texas there at the end, wasn't he? And one other school. He stuck with us. I don't blame him for being pissed.

ETA - If the staff is pitching playing time and then not following through, then that's also an issue. A promise is a promise.

Doesn't look good for future recruits if we made promises then don't keep them. I don't know how legitimate those promises were though.
