Is Steve Spurrier really one of the best coaches in CFB?

Let me say first, this isn't a flame thread. I have a lot of respect for the South Carolina football program, but this just seems to be going too far.
I mean, he's been with the program since 2005, and all he's won is the 2009 SEC East title. They went to championship and got murdered by Auburn. His overall record at South carolina is 66-37. That means that with every two wins, he loses one game.
I dont really see the infatuation with him. Yes, he was very successful in the 90s but that was almost twenty years ago. People are ranking him ahead of Mark Richt and Les Miles, but at least they have SEC Championships.
Anyone else agree or is there something I'm missing?

Spurrier has won a couple of SEC titles in his day.

Given our previous lack of sustained success and our continuing climb towards elite status (not quite there yet), I say absolutely. Back to back 10-win seasons in the SEC is no easy feat, no matter where you're coaching.

All I know is that Les Miles is barely a top 25 coach. Barely.

Yes, he is.
Next question.
Next question.

Unequivocally, YES....frickING YES. I would like to hear serious arguments to the contrary.

Let me ask you this. Do you think South Carolina has all the advantages as LSU does as a program? What about Georgia?

SOS gets questioned weekly on here. If you had an idea how shitty of a program we have been historically, you wouldn't doubt Spurrier is one of the all time best.

8th grade was the hardest 3 years of your life, wasn't it?

Coach Spurrier's time at UF doesn't need rehashing I don't think. He currently has SCar at the highest level they have ever been (if wrong, welcome any correction by a Gamecock fan). In my book....yes, and he's still got it, imo.

Wut? Did Spurrier's time at UF disappear?

And every year South Carolina has gotten better. Heck, if they hadn't herped derped the frick out of the UF game in the 1st half this past season, they would've been playing Alabama in Atlanta instead of Georgia.
And BTW: Spurrier knows how to coach against Saban.

Tops at flapping his jaws.

Saban. As much as I dislike Meyer, I'd say him too. That's really about it if the whole career is taken into account.
============
On 2nd thought Spurrier did well with QB's nowhere near Tebow so maybe SOS at #2.....dunno.

Yes. Back-to-back top 10 finishes at USC.

Saban, Meyer, Bob Stoops?

Saban, urban meyer, bob stoops has one national title just like spurrier, les miles has a national title just like spurrier. I don't know about top three...

Coach Miles beat Stoops at OSU twice. I'd hesitate on Bob.

For 3 coaches better than Spurrier, if it's Saban, Meyer and ____________...I would have Miles, who is 3-0 against Spurrier, rather than Stoops.
