frick Van Jefferson and his LaVar Ball clown-arse dad. It’s impossible to get lied to when you were already enrolled before alleged period of lying begins. At least under Merlins, he won’t have to worry about a recruit coming in and being more talented than him

I’m ambivalent towards him leaving, but I do think he chose to play for Mullen in part because he wanted to stick it to Ole Miss. I just find it ridiculous to claim you’ve been lied to during your recruitment when you were already enrolled when said lying began. It’s not too big a deal though since he’s leaving because of the talent in front of him. I think it’s bullshite that he hopped on the “Hugh Freeze and Ross Bjork tricked me!” train when he’s leaving purely because DK, Lodge, and AJ are all higher priority receivers than he is. The same thing is happening with Tre Nixon

I do agree the I’ve been lied to shite is weak. Everyone knew what we were going through including recruits, but no one knew what the outcome would be.

I’m not sure how he’d get immediate eligibility considering he was a 2015 recruit, and he could’ve likely been one of our top WRs in 2019 because Lodge and presumably Brown are gone after this year. I don’t wish ill on the kid, but his dad seems like an a-hole, and the way they’re leaving town is a crock of shite

Yea he should have to sit then he will have one year to play right?
Posted on 12/19/17 at 4:52 pm to Ole Colonel 27
Yup. He can’t redshirt because he did that his freshman year
Posted on 12/19/17 at 5:51 pm to TOFTR
I don’t think he has to sit out. Academically he is a senior. So therefore I think he is able to transfer without sitting.
Could be wrong. So don’t shoot me. But I think that’s the case.

Not saying you are wrong, but my understanding was it was strictly tied to eligibity years left.

Gotcha and that may very well be. When I heard the situation that was my first thought as well.

If he has a degree and he's does grad school in a related field of study, then he doesn't have to sit.

Did anyone transfer to another SEC school? If not, I'll take that as the positive of all these guys
Posted on 12/21/17 at 4:41 pm to JohnnyRebel
They were not allowed to.

Oh yea. I forgot about that rule. Well I'm not really rooting for any of them, but I think Michigan is good fit for Shea. He had a lot of mental breakdowns this year, but on a more competitive winning team, he could be really successful. I personally have no hard feelings. Glad he chose Ole Miss, but I understand he wants to compete for national title. He was classy in his transfer letter. I wish him the best.

Just saw that. Are you a Gator fan too?
Does he have to sit out a year, and Do you think he'll start?

Shea has happy feet. The 3-star we kept does not.
Shea regularly overthrew his receivers. The 3-star we kept does not.
Shea NEVER showed poise. The 3-star does.
Shea would have backed up a 3-star had he stayed.
He knew that.

I agree with you, that Ta'amu clearly out played him, and it looks like he got ran out of town.... But he kept having mental breakdowns, or happy feat, because a lot of the time our WR drop balls, and OL didn't play well. Then our defense was horrific, and the offense had no chance in some games.
My point was, if he starts for Michigan, and they get Rollin, and he builds confidence, he can compete for a national title. I respect that it's one of his goals, and I have no doubt about it, and he can't win one here. On top of losing his spot to injury, and a backup out performing him, I would've left as well. I'm not trying to debate why he left, I think it was a smart move by him personally, and he's a classy guy,. He's not shitting on Ole Miss although he's transferring. I don't blame him, and wish him the best.
