It varies.

Right now, Conestoga is on the upswing. They have a cowboy cut bone-in ribeye that is supposed to be great. I had their prime rib a couple of weeks ago, and it was pretty good.

It used to be Donanelle's, but it fell off, and I think one of the owners passed away.

The Purple Parrot and Vicki's on Walnut usually do a good job, too.

That's funny because it's true. Most home grown restaurants down here can't stay consistent and serve slop that is on par with the chains. There are a few exceptions like the Purple Parrot (a bit overpriced) and Vicki's on Walnut (under new management with a much improved menu).

Looks like the high is 82 Saturday. It will be optimal balcony-day drinking weather before the baseball game Saturday night.

We did the Half Shell again. Had the Oyster Sampler and stuff Portobello as aps. Then the Rib-eye with asparagus and collard greens. Definitely would recommend it along with Blue Cotton!

Half Shell is legit.

Last time I went, they had the Ship Island Ale from Lazy Mag on tap. It is a kolsch and was light and easy drinking. Perfect for a substantial daydrunk on a muggy, overcast, June afternoon in Harrison County.
