Apparently not. Our last 4 hires have been O, Nutt, Freeze, and Kuke. Allen would be an upgrade over all of them but Freeze and we got lucky there.

We can make better hires than Tom Allen if we want to. The problem is that we don’t want to.

Disagree that we got lucky with Freeze. He had a track record of winning everywhere he went. That hiring process should be the formula going forward.

Yeah who wants the coach that has his school doing better than it has in a quarter century?

Yeah, that was 2 years at Lambuth and one at Arky State. That is not a good resume. We hired him because no one else wanted the job.

One of those won a Sugar Bowl. Acting like Freeze was a bad coach is dumb

He wasn't a bad coach but he was a very risky hire and i'll bet many on here thought that too. His resume was very week.

This.

And if you feed that bullshite line about nobody wanting the job then you are simply wrong. Even when Luke was hired, we had several coaches that wanted the job. If you are dumb enough to think that nobody wants a $3-4 million per year contract, then I have some shite I need to sell to you.

He was actually who I was hoping that they would hire but did not think that they would. I was familiar with his HS coaching and when he took no budget Lambuth from nothing to winning the most they ever have in one season and then the same at Arkansas State, I knew he was an awesome coach.

We would have to make sure he really loves Mississippi before hiring him.

I wasn't thrilled with the hire at first. He proved me wrong though. He was a risky hire but it paid out for us, even with all the NCAA shite that happened.

After Freeze made his first speech at the ford center I was pitching a full tent and knew we were about to win.

Questionable on whether it paid off for us. He's the reason we are where we are now. The good and the bad...

It paid off.. but the current administration isn’t helping us get out from under the sanctions as quickly as we should. Matt Luke served his purpose. It’s time to move on to a coach with an identity. Let Luke go coach the O-Line at Duke

We had more success under him and reached national relevance for the first time since the 60's. It certainly paid off for us. Our administration is to blame for our current situation.

I truly believe that if we either kept Hugh or hired a real coach, we were so laden with talent on the team that we would have recruited better and we would have had a lot more success. I really believe that we would have weathered the NCAA storm.

Matt Luke and Ross Bjork are the ones to blame for where we are now.
