Episode 1: Fall Camp

Within first 60 seconds, my impression, is Luke a used car salesman on the side?

"Matt Corral.....he'll be fun to watch."

I don't know about you guys but I didn't think he was very fun to watch against Memphis.

Go to the 13:02 mark and look at our offensive line coming off of the ball. They look absolutely clueless. If that's the kind of effort and jump we're going to see throughout the season, we honestly probably don't win more than 3 games max. That's pitiful. I honestly kind of want to go review their play through the Memphis game. It honestly reminds me of watching film with my offensive line coach in high school. That's how badly they missed their blocks.

That arm block by 72 and just letting the guy through. Our Right Tackle just letting the guy slant in? Horrific.

Yeah, there were several "look out" blocks thrown on that play.

Been saying this since his first season as head coach in 2016. When shite goes south, he looks like a lost little boy. At halftime last week, he was walking off the field with his head down. That shite pisses me off more than anything.

Let's face it, Luke may not be worth a shite now or ever as a coach, but he could do things by the coaching textbook every minute of every day and you'd still try to point out a list of items you don't like. You're the low value that gets thrown out of studies.

Haha no not really. But I be damned if I’m going to give up after one game. It just ain’t in me. (Ok y’all go ahead and hit me with it’s been two seasons plus).

I'll agree I'm not writing the team off after one game to a borderline ranked Memphis. Having said that, if our offensive line cannot get it together, I think the season and Luke's future with OM is hopeless. I mean, we couldn't do shite against respectable opponents last year with an on-paper ELITE offense. Regardless of the coordinators, if we could't get it done with that offensive line, is Rich Rod coming in really going to turn it around? I believe those are the most important positions on the field. Luke literally was promoted from being an offensive line coach, and it looked horrendous last Saturday. I don't want to hear sanctions. I don't want to hear it was Freeze's fault. What happened to us having elite Left Tackles? Surely one out there sees (or should see) the opportunity to catapult to the NFL, yet our staff has failed to recruit that player. It just isn't a good look to me. shite, even Fahn Cooper who came in as Tunsil's backup showed out. We don't appear to have one Fahn Cooper on the line.

I really hope Corral doesn't develop SPS (Shea Patterson Syndrome) and start prematurely panicking when the pocket starts to collapse. I don't know man, I've had kind of a bad feeling about Corral for the past week. While he is young (and it showed), he isn't a true freshman and I'm concerned about his demeanor/attitude in the long-run. Not in terms of off the field incidents, but I've had a couple impressions that "he just wants to be the QB and wear the jersey." I know Chad Kelly was a risk, but he was a gamer and kept it together at OM. Corral looks like he tries to be too much of a tough guy when I see him in videos and such. He looks immature in that sense, and I'm having a 'bust' feeling with him. I hope I'm wrong!

Well said. I hope you’re wrong too. We will find out a lot more tomorrow. I’m still very torn over what is to be defined as success and real improvement when this is all said and done. Hopefully tomorrow nudges us in the right direction.

This is true. 2 games is going to give us a much better picture of what we're really working with here.

Tomorrow is such an interesting game. If we lose, the fan support is just going to be dead. If we win, what does it really tell us? Not sure if that's what you meant by being torn over success and improvement.

My goodness give it up! I have looked over all insiders posts and nowhere, NOWHERE do I find unwavering support for Luke but what I do see is true hatred for Ole Miss Football by you, hank, and Land-arse. Enough. Please go away.

I have been holding off till I could watch replays etc. Some observations;
1) Defense is much better or at least sound and this real defensive system will allow our better defensive talent to be able to show some
2) Luke to me had 2 critical mistakes last Saturday both on penalties; the Drummond Hold which turns into an interception and no repsonse from Luke was a huge huge mistake! Sure it wouldn't have made a difference on that play but the clear replay could make the refs begin to watch closer to what was happening to us. Same with the Williams non roughing called roughing. The refs have to know we saw it and He will point it out every time! No response from hank, land-arse, or tiger shart as you were too worried about looking down, wtf is that.
3) Corral is anything but a pretty boy Patterson. The high throws I attribute to a new kid jacked up and that will settle but he has a couple of games to learn ow to get that under control.
4) Bicknell was not pleased at all! It showed in his demeanor during the press conference amd we may miss blocks but we won't be walking through them much anymore. His answers were solid and I believe they will get better week to week. He has been a fine line coach.

Other takeaways that nobody is mentioning; Memphis OLine was all returning seniors and I believe they would have put 60 on us, easy lat year. The over under was 60 and ended being 25. Our Defense will keep us in games this year which is refreshing. We will see this weekend but I have been saying we had a hell of a lot more d talent than we knew, just played completely wrong.

Ealy - that opening kick off return last wee, if we had blocked it could have gone big. I say unless the ball is 8 plus deep return everything and let Ealy do his magic, that's where he can really shine.

Final point - we have 4 Outstanding quarterbacks so let's run with no more sliding, Play football. Sliding gets them hurt a lot more it seems to me, Just run when you run, Kelly did and I loved it. Can anybody ever imagine Archie Sliding? If they all play because the guy ahead is dinged up then so be it, next.

Luke could earn a lot of respect by being vocal about bad calls even if thrown out of the game! I did it and it worked and we won.

Please Square Pizza, insider, Dores and other Rebs respond with constructive comments. The other 3 go pound sand.

I didn't see that, but that's at least encouraging. I keep forgetting too that apart from Scottie Phillips, the offense is very young. Hopefully Givens can make more contributions as his post-surgery recovery moves along.
