Probably unrelated, but we also made some senior leadership changes to the athletic department.

quote:

The Ole Miss athletics compliance office is now under the direction of Will Kava, who is in his fifth year working with the Rebels. Kava is being promoted to Senior Associate A.D., and moving forward, he will report to Paul McCarthy, Ole Miss' Senior Associate General Counsel/Athletics Compliance Officer.

quote:

Other Rebel administrators with expanding roles include communications director Kyle Campbell, who will also spearhead licensing within the department and assume the title of Associate A.D. for Brand Strategy, and Neal Mead, who is being promoted to Associate A.D. for Event Management and will help facilitate new gameday experiences.

The fact that Lebby as the OC was not aware of it tells me one of two things:

1) It could be an HR issue. Sometimes they keep immediate supervisors out of true HR issues.
2) Or secondly that there is a big fissure between Kiffin and Lebby.

If there was a big issue between Kiffin and Lebby, I feel like Lebby would have taken the Auburn OC job since it was offered to him and at least interview at Alabama. He had his chance to get out and he didn't.

Kiffin is HC so he doesn’t have to get approval from anyone to make staff changes.

I’m sure Lebby would like to have his buddy on staff but this is big business. He’s an adult and isn’t going to cry about having a new Oline coach for a year. If Lebby wants him back he can hire him next year wherever he gets a HC job.

An oline coach isn’t going to make or break a season (unless you hire one to be your HC for 3 years )

Looks like we are losing a starting LB. Jacquez Jones entered the transfer portal.

Some behind the scenes against the rule recruiting to another school. Sounds like Oklahoma.
