The desire and the infrastructure are there. Time will tell.

We beat that Tulane team 45-10. They don’t have a shot man.

I mean, it really is the same scenario - poaching a coach on a team during a playoff run.

The only difference would be the what led Ole Miss to make that move.

It sucks, and it's a shitty situation created by Lane that would trigger these dominos to be toppled over.

ETA: One major difference is Lane allowed this to become a public distraction.

Hell, if Lane went to Nebraska and wasn't a piece of shite, we would likely allow him to coach the CFP. The fact that it is an in conference rival, NOBODY in the SEC would allow that.

We aren't in the American Conference.

Especially if he outright said he was going to leave but wanted to coach out the rest of the year.

But it's still EXACTLY like Tulane right?

You're focusing on the distinctions because you're upset with the ultimate fact that you might lose your coach ahead of the most important run in program history.

I think it is similar but there are a few differences:

-He hasn't it let it become a spectacle the way Kiffin has. His name came up as interviewing for Florida and he immediately shut it down.

-Kiffin has said he doesn't discuss during jobs during the season and that in and of itself would be fine if he didn't have his agent actively negotiating with multiple schools and very publicly send his family to check out those locations.

-Nobody is expecting Sumrall m or trying to get him to leave in the middle of a playoff push. I don't think you will hear anything about him taking another job until his season is actually over (I could be wrong, but just a feeling).

All Kiffin had to do is say I don't discuss job opportunities until after the season, and then live by that. Don't have your agent do it. Say if you are interested in hiring me, talk to me after the playoffs. (It's different if it is not a year you are in playoff contention)

Or he could have told LSU and Florida, one word gets out about this and we are done.

With all due respect, Landmass....you nor anyone on this board has any idea of what is truly going on behind the scenes.

Correct (Landmass is not to be harmed)

You can't be mad at Lane leaving before the playoffs and then actively wish for your team to do the same to another coach. That's about as hypocritical as it gets.

Yes you can do both but you are correct that it is hypocritical. (Landmass is not to be harmed)

Don't get it twisted I'm not sitting here defending Kiffin's actions.

But I don't buy a single Ole Miss fan saying they are more upset about how he is leaving than him leaving in the first place.

He seems to enjoy trying to go to in conference rivals, which is annoying. Maybe if State opens up, he’ll try there next.

Maybe I am the odd man out, then. I actually WANT him to leave. The worst scenario in my mind is him having a change of heart and staying.

Hell, I would even be open to an agreement between both parties to have him coach the playoffs. It would have to include a strict NDA with high financial impact for breaking it, along with a trusted agent of Ole Miss monitoring his every move while on our property, and no unmonitored interaction with our players. Assistants that wanted to remain on staff would still need to actively recruit for us, and an amendment to his existing contract to allow us to go ahead and hire his replacement.

We also need to change his title to Head Piss Master.

That's where you're wrong Bob. He's coached in Oxford longer than anywhere he's been and that took an 11th hour change of heart 3 years ago. Anyone whose thought process isn't driven purely by emotion (most women/men that are pussies) knew this was coming sooner than later. I never thought his decision would dominate the news cycle for a month straight but it's not all bad. When has the national media ever been so outspoken about supporting Ole Miss and siding with our university ? Maybe during the Chucky Mullins tragedy but that's apples and oranges compared to this.

I’m very close to being there but mostly I just want to know who the frick is coaching for the playoff. Stay, go, I don’t give a shite. Just let me know who is gonna man the ship during the biggest games in our history.
