It's taking them a bit, but the more live bats they're getting, the better. This is a strange team. So, we have an ace in Elliot - who else will make the leap? Lots of promising young talent, but transfer guys gotta get up to speed. Honestly, I'm expecting a slightly above .500 club in conference play. If not, Bianco is history. Football is now the only revenue generating sport - it didn't used to be the case.

I'm just glad to have baseball back. It was nice watching the baseball game instead of our basketball team losing again.

Got the sweep. Big matchup this Tuesday against a very good Southern Miss team.

I'm sure Southern Miss saved their ace this weekend for Tuesday.

Last week they trotted out Colby Allen
Who went to Starkville Academy but didn't get an offer from the dawgs. He promptly went out there and shut them out.

They also have a good middle reliever named Harris who has pitched 5 innings this year giving up only two hits and no runs.

All three of their regular rotation starters have ERAs under 3 and they're 7-1. They're a very good team top to bottom.

USM has given us plenty of walks with too many left on base. The score should show a much greater gap

Maybe one of them read my post in the dugout and boosted the team's morale on hitting

CSB from last night. My two daughters go to OM and I haven't seen them since Christmas break. So I went down and met them for the game yesterday. Beautiful afternoon.

So we are enjoying the game and Paino comes up. And I said something to my daughters like: "This is an interesting guy because he's supposed to be the next big thing. And shortstop is a normally a defensive position. But Paino has the athleticism to play shortstop. But he's also like 6 foot 3, 220# and can hit for power. So that's like having an extra player on your team," etc

And then I said: "He's a true freshman, and he's starting out really slow. He's like 1 for 19 to start the season. But what we brought him in here to do is to hit the ball 400 feet into the right field bleachers"

And I pointed to right field....and just as I did he hit a moon shot straight down the end of my finger into a wall of beer showers in right.

And my daughters turned to me and said: "That was really cool!"

Anyhow if Paino ends up in the Hall of Fame or something in 20 years my daughters will have a story.

Fun game last night. Great to be back in Swayze

Did Doyle leave for the money or was he just ready to get out? Him and Elliot would be a nasty pitching duo

He got double what we were offering. If we had him back we would have the best 1-2 punch in the SEC.

We really need to lower our NIL budget for basketball and spend the difference on baseball.
