What would your top 8 look like?

I’m a bit conflicted over moving teams above Florida. They’ve been the best team this whole season and a crappy finish should drop them, but I can’t really justify another team being #1.
If I had to choose, OSU is the only other team I’d put #1.

Arkansas = not good enough on the road to be that high
Ole Miss = the homer in me thinks we should be a top 3 seed but I can’t fathom us being #1. I’d absolutely love it and think a tourney win should move us up, however I just don’t think we’d get it with our OOC schedule (which looked strong on paper, but usually strong teams just decided to suck it up this year).

My top 8 would look like this

1. Florida
2. Oregon State
3. Ole Miss
4. Stanford
5. Arkansas
6. Clemson/FSU (whichever makes it to the ACC final)
7. Texas Tech
8. Georgia

I think the Dawgs just barely manage to slide in, but I have my doubts as to whether or not the committee would really make four SEC teams national seeds. I’m tempted to say 8 would go to the Clemson-FSU loser

You either let him pitch on like a 45-50 pitch count. Or have him throw a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday. Why not throw against live batters. I can see either option. I’d be fine with both.

Sorry bro you’re wrong here.

If NO ONE cared fans wouldn’t be in Hoover. Watch the teams. They play their asses off to win. And a SEC tourney champ isn’t meaningless it’s hardware to put in a trophy case. It’s confidence to the team. If they can win the sec tourney they can be a two seed to the sec tourney and win it they can win anything.

There is no such thing as a meaningless win.

LSU it is then. Would rather face them than Arky, but LSU just seems like a different team every year in postseason play.

What? The players damn sure care about it. This kind of year + SEC tourney champ is big for momentum, fan support, and recruiting.

Y’all are missing his point. He’s not saying the game tomorrow is meaningless. He’s saying in the grand scheme of things throwing Rolo to win it should not be top priority. By all means win the whole damn thing tomorrow. But don’t burn arms to win a game that doesn’t mean as much as regionals and supers.

Pitch Rolison for what? A meaningless SEC Championship that NO ONE cares about.

shite we might as well bubble wrap him and send him back to Oxford and forfeit. He can throw as many pitches as he would for his bullpen session. I bet he would rather do that than sit on the bench knowing he could help his team win a tournament championship that might help us get a better seed.

Start Stokes. He’s really been keeping the ball down this year and his fastball has a lot of life.

I don’t want Rolison pitching.

Not because of a loser mentality or trying to act like the game doesn’t matter, it does.

I just don’t want our ace getting hit with a line drive coming off his most dominant performances all year in back to back starts.

Roth, Cioffi , Holston , Caracci.

Make it happen Rebs.

If we are scared to lose Rolison we better save Caracci then too.

LSU will pitch their stud Hilliard and dominate us again if we have this approach

Dare I say it . . . if we win the SEC title, could we be ranked #1?

Oh, an obligatory "we aren't going to Omaha."

Kind of been saying that on the rant, OM wins it they have the best argument for it.

Florida had a favorable schedule

If anyone new is #1 it'll probably be Stanford

If we beat LSU today and aren’t a higher seed than all the other SEC teams then it really is a sham. We would have head to head wins over Arky and UGA and our last 10 games are the complete opposite of Florida’s. I get not being #1 seed but winning all these games and still not passing the other SEC teams would be a joke.

Prepare to be upset.

Florida and Arkansas will both be higher seeds than us.

Florida has played 39 games against Tier 1 RPI teams (Auburn is 2nd with 38). Even with their awful finish they’re still 25-14 in those games.

1. Florida
2. Stanford
3. Arkansas
4. Oregon State
5. Ole Miss
6. Florida State
7. North Carolina
8. Stetson

If Stetson isn’t a top 8 it’ll be Clemson,
Texas Tech or UGA.

The bracket it pretty much set at this point.

Ray Tanner is the only SEC voice in the room this year I believe. That’s why the conference won’t get 4 top 8 seeds.

Don’t be surprised when South Carolina lands in a favorable Regional bracket.
