Fiegl doesn’t have the velocity or command either. Could be because of the weather. But we have also made 2 errors on throws to first base that have allowed 4 runs to score.

State hasn't scored more than 5 runs in any SEC game so far. They already have 6 today. Pitiful.

The weather is shite, and our starting pitching simply hasn’t been the reason we’ve been winning conference games.

We simply have no focus today. Inexcusable against State. They clearly aren’t as bad as their record, to be expected after losing their coach, but my gosh we look like a little league team fielding the ball today.

I wonder how much of an adjustment it is pitching off that turf hill into turf batters box? Not saying it changes anything about this game but I would guess those balls in the dirt bounce differently for the catcher.

Hate that it’s coming in Game 1 in Starkville but have to give MSU credit. They’ve shown life today that their fans haven’t seen all year.
First things first , find a way to get a zero up for MSU in a half inning. Then find some hits and scratch for some runs just to get some momentum back in our dugout.

Goal for the rest of the game has to be to somehow force them to use a couple of arms out of the bullpen. If we let pilkington finish this game on us we are in trouble for game 2 and 3.

Having to back door every sec series is going to bite us in the arse. How many teams back door regionals and super regionals? It’s the thing that scares me the most about this team.

We’ve lost 5 games this year which is amazing, but 3 have been Friday nights. It’s cool winning all those other games and dominating midweeks like we have but game 1 of regionals will be Friday night. It’s definitely too early to panic but we need to figure this issue out at some point.
