All American running back and that freshmen qb had almost 3k yards passing. They weren't lighting the scoreboard up but neither were we.

Any indication on when we will find out who it is? I'm guessing it needs to happen ASAP because of recruiting, but it looks like Freeze is taking his sweet time.

They just announced the firing today. I'm sure they already have someone in mind but just because they haven't announced the new hire within 10 hours doesn't mean he's taking his sweet time

I've been saying that big name hires aren't coming here with the NCAA still in town.

I couldn't care less if a big name guy is hired. I want somebody who can do a pretty good job. We will all expect too much from a big name guy.

I was referring to the fact that Wommack left 2 weeks ago and Werner and Barney could have been fired then.

Yeah that combined with lack of proven defensive talent is why I think we are getting Crime Dog for DC.
On offense at least there is some talent to play with (Sheasus, 5-star WRs, Cam Ak... er uh Jordan Wilkins) that could attract a name.

If that's the case then I'm right there with you. If you were going to clean house, do it all at once when the season ends (or before, in wommack's case) that way you have more time to find a guy & pitch the new coaches to recruits.

Yea, the timing of the firings have me a little confused. The only thing I can think of is there is more to Barney's issue than they originally thought so they needed to let Barney go. Then the question of who was going to recruit for Dan came up. Then they started thinking and were like Dan's not that good anyway... let's just let him go too.
Probably just the pessimist in me but not sure why this decision wasn't made when the Womack decision was made otherwise

That would definitely be an outside of the box hire. I love the thought of getting someone from the Chad Morris/Clemson coaching tree but he's only been an actual college assistant coach for two years. He might be the kind of guy who would be a fantastic recruiter due to his youth and energy but it's very risky.
