Don't the Browns have 2 1st round picks this year?

Leaving for the NFL after a bad season usually isn't a good idea. It's going against the "sell high" thought process.

He had to go with the capped wage scale. There's no real point staying and risking getting injured and destroying what earning power you had even if its not what it was a year ago.

^^^^this the faster they can get to that 2nd contract the better off they are. I would love to see him play with y'all one more year kid is fun to watch but you can't blame him for taking care of his family.

He didn't "have to go" because at this point he's at the risk of being drafted in the 4th round and beyond. Hell, unless he runs a good 40 he may slide even further. Generally you shouldn't turn pro if you lose 3/4 rounds of stock in one season.
With his physical tools he has, a good senior year could've put him back in round 1.
Regardless, my perspective isn't just about the $$, and moreso about his development as a player. The second contract path is clearly more pertinent nowadays with capped rookie salaries.
He obviously needed the $$.

I think he would make a good replacement for colston, who looks like he's slowing down.
That would be awesome, because Stills is gonna be a beast too.

I think Moncrief is going to show out at the combine at get some attention from teams.
And I don't think he had a bad junior year. Yeah he had some drops along the way but still made some great plays and has a great nfl body. And IMO the NFL drafts more on measureables and potential than straight results.

His knee injuries are catching up to him.
It sucks because he is one of my favorite players. Dude won my fantasy league his first year in the league when Yahoo had him listed as a TE.

No, the production has been there.
With all of the physical tools he has, and with those tools being shown at the combine, he could go as early as the mid 2nd.
Teams now draft players purely off of combine numbers.

Yeah no, when I mean "production" I mean "play well".
He didn't play well in 2013. Too many drops, not creating great separation, etc.
He could've improved his stock in 2014 had he returned. On the flip side, he could've been injured and hurt it more. Who knows
He can definitely improve his draft position at the combine if he runs well, but his hands are clearly not a strength.

They don't care about hands if you run fast.
Let's put it this way, Brandon Lafell was drafted in the 3rd round and ran a 4.5

Hyperbole. They care about hands - there are plenty of fast WRs. Running a fast 40 helps, but isn't the biggest factor for a NFL FO when evaluating a WR. It's the total package.

Ok. We don't know what Moncrief's real 40 time is at the point, and we won't know until the combine when he gets laser-timed.

Agree to disagree.
I do believe that 40 time is the biggest factor these days in evaluating WR's. Espcially differentiating a 1st round pick from say a 4th round pick.

Do y'all think he will have a good one? I wouldn't think it will be anything special.
