Arky is stuck with Bret Bielema for at least one maybe two years because of the buyout amount.

Not sure it really matters, but when Morris went to SMU, did he kick out all the staff and start new?

Why would anyone consider Charlie Strong? How can you succeed at Ole Miss if you can't at Texas?

I agree we need a proven winner, I vote for Lane Kiffin

Charlie Strong gave us the cold shoulder last time around. Why would he want to take over a team heading into sanctions if he didn't want us without the baggage?

Now Brown/Norvell/Wilson could think to themselves that I can win with the caliber of player I have now and I can get those guys if it's their only SEC offer. Once sanctions end start to make a push to get out of the bottom of the pile again.

Gary Patterson isn't happening and why would Leach leave Washington State? He could go 0-12 the next two years and they probably wouldn't fire him.

Before we get stuck with Lane Kiffin -- I'm reversing my stance and say we need to stick with Luke and the rest of the yahoo's coaching this team.

Thoughts on going after Mark Dantonio? He has been at Michigan St 10 years. He is from Texas, I'm sure the luster is wearing off there a bit.

Theres no way in hell he'd wanna leave Michigan State for us the way our programs about to be. Realistically who ever we get is probably going to have to start his first season here with a bowl ban, limited scholarships, and guys leaving the program, and forced to work with the three stars we have left over. Y'all realize whoever we hire is going to have to rebuild the entire football program anew from the bottom. Thats a lot to deal with.

But we won't truly know how bad our next coach will have it to start out next year, until the sanctions come out.

I don't think we get the 2 year bowl ban. I just don't see the point the NCAA would be making by doing so. OM program is at the bottom of the barrel. What would adding another year do besides rub it in. Freeze is gone, the coaches will all be gone. Every OM player mentioned in the NOAs will be gone. I mean it would seriously come off as we are totally trying to bury this program for good. With no Freeze I don't see the reason for that.

Who knows what'll happen. But the out come either way will absolutely change who would want to coach for us. I just expect the worse, and hope for the best.

Do you really think the NCAA cares about optics?

They probably will, thats why I was saying the mention of Mark Dantonio is laughable. And I'm trying to get some of us to understand whoever our next coach is will have to start at the bottom, on sanctions, and he has to rebuild the entire program. We are not getting any coaches like Dantonio anytime soon. But lets say the NCAA goes easy on us, maybe it would help us get a big proven name. Like I said I'm just hoping for the best tho I'm expecting the worst.

Brohm from Purdue looks like a good choice.

I think Dantonio is a damn good coach but I doubt he leaves Michigan State. He makes in the $4M range and has all the job security in the world considering he's beaten Harbaugh a couple of times.

ETA: And by doubt I mean OM isn't a possibility and I would be surprised if he left for another job anywhere

I get why some are hesitant to get behind the thought of Frank Wilson (young, limited head coaching experience), but he's proven he can win games at UTSA and he's a damn good recruiter. He has strong ties to Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. You wouldn't have to break the bank on Wilson so he would have a strong assistant pool to work with. He is well regarded by people who know much more than I do about college football coaching. Not to mention OM could probably still get him to Oxford IF a 2 year bowl ban was handed down.

I also really like Mike Leech (not to the extent of Rebelgator), so it's probably good I'm not in charge of this hire.

How about Mark Richt ? Would he leave Miami for 5 million a year and a four year
guarantee to rebuild the Ole Miss program and a chance to get back into the SEC ?
