I was driving home from the game the other night...

I was riding through Greenwood at 1 in the morning. Going the speed limit (45 MPH) and about the time I pass Shoney's, I see blue lights coming the opposite direction. They make a u-turn and get right behind me so I pull over.
The cop (young white guy FWIW) asks for my license and insurance. I provide each.
He proceeds to tell me that he pulled me over because I had my bright beams on (which I did because HWY 82 is dark as frick at night and I forgot to turn them off as I came into town).
He asks where I'm coming from and I say Tuscaloosa and he asks if I've been drinking. I say no, I haven't had anything all day (I hadn't). I hold up my Monster energy drink and show him and he said, no, it smells more like beer in your car and he would be surprised if I hadn't had anything having just left from Tuscaloosa. He asks me to take a breathalyzer, which I comply with. He goes to sit in his squad truck thing.
He comes back and doesn't mention the breathalyzer (because I passed the motherfricking breathalyzer) and the dumb motherfricker still cites me with a "Failure to Dim Lights" ticket because my bright lights make the roads of Greenwood so fricking dangerous at 1 in the damn morning. I drive home.
Today, I call the number on the ticket 5 TIMES today to see how much the ticket is going to cost me and each time I get sent to a voice mailbox that is full. The next to last time I called, I told the lady that I kept getting sent to a full mailbox and she said oh I'm sorry and transferred me to it again. I call again after 5 and she says that lady has left and I can call between 8 and 5 if I want to speak with her.
frick it all.
TL;DR CLIFFS: frick Greenwood. frick dumb cops. frick lazy asses at the Greenwood police department. frick full voice mailboxes. frick HJJ for being from Greenwood. frick Tuscaloosa. frick Bama. frick everything. frick it all.

Honestly speaking, cops are trained to stereotype. Only then is that multiplied by only needing a tenth grade education and next thing you know you're pretty much "having court" so to speak on the side of the road in a small town. It can be scary..
I agree in the training to stereotype, it works..but the entry requirements for local police are pretty much basic handwriting skills and beating a chicken in tic-tac-toe 2 out of 5 times.. We have some of the same boneheads in the Army.
What is it like to be dumb and powerful you might ask?? We'll never know I'm afraid.

No doubt. I'm well aware that I don't look scary. It worked to my detriment Sunday morning.

How I didn't get a ticket driving drunk HJJ home from Giardinas without my glasses (I couldn't see shite) is beyond me.
Prayers sent.

Honestly this surprises me a little. Greenwood cops aren't really that bad. But he's probably new on the force and is on a power trip. Did you get his badge number?

I have a friend that says he might can get it taken care of. I'm not hopefully.

I love you too sugar
And yeah, the people working in the police office are lazy as frick. Have fun with that.

Tickets in Greenwood are usually pretty easy to get taken care of. Especially a bullshite one like that. The judge will probably rip it up and say not to worry about it.

Still have to go to court and pay about 50 bucks in court costs probably. Lame as frick

Don't be mackin' on my man.
And the most pain in the arse ticket I've had to deal with I got just outside of Memphis at some little precinct. Took almost 4 months to get that shite straightened out.

That blows. A cop wrote me a ticket for following too closely once. I laughed at him.

Next time ask him if he can prove your lights were on bright. I would've called him out on that. If you deny your lights were on bright, how could he prove it? That ticket is BS

You can go to court and not pay that easy... All you have to do is tell the judge you had already seen several deer that night coming down Highway 82 and you have an infant daughter now so you are extra careful at all times when behind the wheel ... Promise it'll never happen again cause you're done driving that late at night now that you have a family... The judge will probably tear it up and tell you to get your arse back to Sunflower County before you even finish the entire story.

I hate Piperton, and I have to drive through it frequently. It's the only time Highway 196 drops from 50 mph to 45 and 35. It's nothing but a speed trap.
