I got a kid going to OIe Miss next year, and we are looking to buy a house back in Oxford. Kid would use it in college and we would keep it for retirement.

I welcome some crappy seasons to save me money

Holy shite! My first apartment in Oxford was a 3 bedroom for 500$ a month, total. I paid 167$ in rent a month. That’s ridiculous

I thought Lafayette Place was outrageous asking for $1000 a month for a 1 bed 1 bath

Had a random roommate ( super nice black guy ) when I moved there to Oxford in 2015, 2 bedroom.. 650 everything included. Man.. what a steal.. I don’t know who liked white girls more, me or him.. that was a fun arse year

And about 50% of them go to people who don't live here.

Last five years around here remind me of living in Austin in the 00s. That was a really cool place to live until...

I lived in a townhouse and it was $400 or so a month. The next year, I had a friend that live in some really nice HUD housing off Amderson for $125 per month. I moved into a unit over there too next to some Mexican family.

Must be nice to drop $400,000++++ on a place you stay at 8 weekends a year.

Before the bubble bursts, there is sound logic to getting that place. The assumption is you are not using it on those 8 weekends. You have a minimum 6 weekends you can rent it out for football. The rate can vary based off team coming to Oxford, but you can average out to around 6-8 months of mortgage payments. Then toss in Red/Blue weekend, double decker and graduation. Maybe move in weekend.

With the right house note and demand, your mortgage can be paid for. I see some places on AirnBnB for playoff going close to $10,000 for weekend. Imagine if it was Notre Dame coming into town instead.

9 game conference is going to help as well, as it removes a cream-puff.

Man times must be tough if that’s all people are spending on a shack.

My cabin in the Swiss alps is my least expensive property and it’s only $1.8 million.
