Welp, Greenville Christian is back in the news with their 48-41 win over number one ranked and two-time defending 6A champ Oak Grove last night. But again. I don’t care in the least for their business model.

I am man enough to come eat my plate of crow. How the hell is this team doing this? I have been following MS HS football since 2006 and never seen/heard of a Private School team that could hang with the 6A teams.

All of the Delta public schools cancelled their seasons in 2020 so they went out and recruited their best players. It's basically an All-star team of 30 players. Credit to the coaching staff too though because they don't win these games without coaches who know their shite.

Private schools have started recruiting much heavier the last 5 years or so. Especially MRA

I really hope Lance Pogue fails.

MRA beats Jackson Prep. JP is ok, sucks on defense, offense isn't bad. MRA Has some athletes and better coaches.

Was at the JA game tonight. Greenville only won that game because of their athletes that they have. They were not disciplined and not coached very well.

It’s by far the sloppiest game they’ve played. You don’t beat Oak Grove then hang with the #7 team in the nation going into the 4th quarter if you aren’t well coached.

GCS coach is a really good dude. He also won our fantasy football league last year. An embarrassment of riches.

GCS is playing mighty Rossville Christian Academy tonight. They are 1-4 and they were out scored 179-20 their first 4 games against North Delta, Kirk, Marshall, and Lee Clarksdale.

I pray it’s a running clock from the beginning

Next week they play Delta Streets Academy who is 1-6. Don’t let that 1 win fool you though. It came from a forfeit due to COVID the first game of the season.

The next two weeks are going to be blood baths

Ok so I was mistaken. Rossville backed out of the game that was scheduled tonight. Can’t say I really blame them.

Ah. I saw the coaches on Facebook looking for an opponent earlier this week. Figured Rossville was who they found.

It's why we have classes or divisions based on school size. Then when you totally destroy that method through recruiting to one sport (regardless of the reason) you can't blame others for not wanting to play you.

I have no idea where they get talent. They share talent with Washington School.

I’ve ridden through Greenville. It’s crap. The shittiest town in the delta. Easily.

A bunch of public school kids transferred there last year after Covid eliminated their fall sports seasons.

Delta Streets, a team of 18 players, has said they aren’t forfeiting the game. So they are going to play tomorrow night.

Jesus this is going to be bad
