That's not what I got out of it. Seems like a con artist took advantage of him and several other people. Come on. If Powe would have slept on his legs he would not be able to walk the next day.

Sounds like the conman setup the whole "I'm being kidnapped" on purpose by luring them to go with him to "get the money" as a way to try to avoid returning their money.

That Mathis kid sounds like a real sociopath. Love how the local yokel law enforcement is more concerned about Powe sitting on a dude’s legs (which is probably another lie given Mathis’ track record) than Mathis defrauding multiple people out of millions of dollars. Idiots.
