Yes. John Latina at OC and Chuck Driesbach at DC. Glory years. Shreveport or bust.

You aren't just going to wake up one day and be great. It's going to take time and all signs point to Ole Miss being in the right direction. With more talent and depth on the team, those questionable calls might become good ones.

We aren't satisfied, but we do understand their is a process to becoming a upper tier team. Look how long it took Spurrier to get USCe where it is and we know for a fact how good a coach he is. You have to build from the ground up. Just pump the breaks on the expectations. The season is not over yet

Wow such a great post literally couldn't have said it better myself

And again River no not satisfied. I think of State fans that were made they scheduled OSU because they wanted a gimmie win to make their year look better. That's the definition of being satisfied with being mediocre. I want us to compete with teams and build our way up. But again it takes time. Remember 2 years ago we were 2-10. Take that in for a moment.

I agree that building a program takes time and I don't expect it to happen this year. I am just asking if we are headed in the right direction. It did take awhile for Spurrier to build a program at SC, but he is Spurrier, so you knew he would probably get them there. I sure as heck don't want to play pitiful teams like State does just to get to a worthless bowl game. I want to one day get to the point that other teams dread playing us and respect us. I am tired of hearing UT fans say that they now understand how it feels to be a Rebel fan. I haven't forgotten the 2-10 season of a couple of years ago. I just hoped to win a couple more games this year than last, to be going forward, not backward.

Don't tell South Carolina fans in 2009 that.

Exactly. We lost to Alabama and Auburn on the road and everyone thinks the world is ending. It's fricking retarded. We can be worse than LSU fans sometimes.

I think Auburn is easily the third most talented overall team in the SEC West (behind only Alabama and LSU).

Agree. A&M fans might not like to hear that but it's true.

The only reason they were as bad as they were last year is because Malzahn was gone and Chizik was trying to run a pro-style offense with spread offense players.

I honestly think Malzahn had more to do with their recruiting success and national championship than Chizik did.

THIS!!! This is one thing that pisses me off about our fanbase. They are so quick to turn their back on a coach and the staff. Freeze is in his second year and rebuilding a team that had no depth. He has to play Freshman right now due to it. But it will pay off eventually.......IF the fans are patient and give him time. Fans that were predicting 9 or 10 wins this season can blame themselves for having those expectations. This is a project that will take time. It will get there.

Hearing this sort of stuff from a Bama fan is like a millionaire telling you money isn't everything.

I will say I was predicting 8 or 9 wins this year and after taking out Texas thought 9 was a given.

BUT I am not at all turning my back on Freeze. I completely believe in what he is doing and know it is a process. I got greedy this year. It's my fault I expected too much. But that's not nothing to blame on CHF.

I respect him even more for beginning of season telling out fans to cool the expectations. Some will say he was doing it to keep the fire off of him if we did lose more. But I believe it's what he truly believed.

I WOULD be pissed if he was claiming we would compete and we wouldn't lose to so and so and blah blah blah to hype up the crowd then we lost. But so far he has delivered on what he has said he could do.

And I'm am ok with players saying stuff like that. I'm ok with what Bo and Moncrief have each said. They need to be confident they need to have that fire. IMO

I think he said at the beginning of the year that there was still a lot to work on to told the fans to be patient.

Neal said it best today, Auburn may be coming off a bad year but they are not rebuilding. They sign top 5-6 talent every year. They have a ton more talent than we do. We brag about signing the top player? Well they signed the #2 and also Adams who both outperformed Robert.

To win on Saturdays you have to win in Recruiting. Let Freeze build some depth and get some players in here.

We are patient. Still doesn't change the frustration at missed opportunities.

We need more home games.

Need to cut out the stupid shite like Treadwell passes and not taking FGs vs. teams like Bama.
