It would be cool if our band marched down University Ave, circled around the circle and then headed to VHS. LSU does this.

Don't they march from the Circle to VHS already?

I just wish they'd bring back Dixie.

I like the idea. The march is too short from the Grove stage to the stadium.

It would be cool if they didn't plan multiple overlapping construction projects at once that reduce traffic to 2 main entry points and further complicate traffic throughout campus while reducing available parking spots and trying to pass asinine rules about ticketing cars for parking backwards or pulling through spots.

Vanderbilt? More like Banderbilt, amirite?

But yeah, our band is fine enough, but it's not like they're as technical as Ohio State or anything, and the unique parts of our band's tradition has been more or less stripped away because of the complicated nature of said tradition. The band's fun and all, but I couldn't pick out of a lineup if there were five bands playing similar repertoires

Do we still have any songs that our band plays that people know? The number of people that recognize "Louie, Louie" goes down every year.

The only two that I can think of are:
Forward Rebels
I Saw the Light

Maybe it's just me but I really hate the "aaahhhh" part of the jaws theme especially when they leave the loudspeakers on and they all scream "aaaahhh".

Im not a huge fan of the 'aaaahhhhh,' but I don't hate it necessarily, and it's one of very, very few unique things I think we still do. Definitely could not and wouldn't fault the band kids for working hard, but I couldn't tell you the last time I've actively watched halftime or stood for a full pregame set at the stage. I've certainly caught substantial pieces of both in recent years, but the sounds of the drumline and blaring of the brass don't bring me any sort of them feels about Ole Miss. Instead, it just makes me think of college football in general. The Pride of the South could easily be the generic soundtrack band if ever EA revives NCAA football
