Are there any other get togethers in Austin besides the shark tank? My first Occ away game except Memphis and bowl games so trying to figure out a game plan for the weekend

Austinite here. Just FYI, 6th Street is mostly the drunk college kid scene. If that's what you're looking for, go there. 4th Street between Lavaca and Congress is a bit older crowd, and 2nd Street by City Hall is more upscale, with better restaurants.

I'm not going to those parties either. Gonna go to several different spots to actually try and hang out and see Austin a bit. Gonna be fun

I'm skipping out on sharktank, Austin is too bad arse to waste your time there. I plan on hitting up Franklins and every bar

That's our thinking. If I'm going to Austin I want to experience Austin. not Oxford in Austin. Whatever should be fun though

I'm from Austin, been looking forward to go there and beat down on Horn for a long time now. I wouldn't go to Shark Tank 1. because you're in Austin too many good options 2. It Blew in Birmingham.

For older crowds going to 6th I would go to west 6th. Younger college crowd will be on East 6th, and they are determined East or West based on which side of Congress you're on.

For Tex Mex, my favorite is Maudies and there are multiple locations around town the closest to everything would be the Lake Austin blvd location.

Other Tex Mex Downtown area y'all should try are Matt's El Rancho, and Guerros both are south of the River. But really there is so much good food you can't go wrong. If you're on West Campus go over to Trudy's and get a mexican martini, it's like a margarita without all the sweet shite.
