I was watching highlights from 2014 to torture myself, and most of the big plays on that defense came from 3 star guys.

Golson, Elston, Hilton, Keith Lewis...that fricking corner whose name I can't even remember who scooped up that pick six against Vandy.

I'll take those guys all day over fricking four star Hamptons who don't do shite.

I'd rather have the talented guys. Just because a guy is higher rated doesn't mean he doesn't play with heart or fire. And with all levels of players there will be bust. But give me the talented guys period.

It's not like Mike Hilton and Cody Prewitt weren't talented, they just weren't the most sought after players because they didn't have the measurables of other guys. If we could get 5 stars like Shea, Little, etc.. every year I would take it but right now the focus needs to be on guys who want to be good college football players and guys our staff feel they can coach. Watching the defense this year was miserable. I've never seen so many missed tackles and guys who were afraid to hit. Hopefully with Webster back and with the younger guys having all this experience we'll see a lot of improvement in the defensive backfield. As of right now I still have no hope for our linebacker situation.

I think Bing Dukes will be better with a year under his belt and Gates is good. We get Dixon and Williams in for the spring and we should be fine.

Hibbler should be improved as well.

My guess was he wasn't being coached. I haven't seen him since all the coaching changes though. Hopefully he will have a change of heart.

I will try and get more details.

Interesting stat I saw not sure how true. 35 of the 44 starters in the title game were 4 star or better.

Yeah give me the talent.

Im all for high motor/intelligent/willing to learn players. You need those guys on your team. You also need high talent/pull stuff out their azz players too that can make the break out plays that win tightly contested ball games vs SEC teams. When the margin is that small we need breakout players. We are not going to gameplan a win.

How is it a spoiler alert. He's committed to Bama. But chances are it's much harder to even try to flip if a kid hasn't even visited.

Don't ask why, but the thought just occurred to me that we need to get Morgan Freeman more involved in our recruiting process.
