We were 18/19 point favorites (depending on site).
We won by 17 so didn't quite cover, but won comfortably as we should have.
You probably saw Rice +19

Our next 5-6 games is a crucial slate. Couple games against teams that will be in the tourney come March.

We are 0-5 in covering first half spreads this year. I'm riding this horse till it bucks.

Bump. Where’s the guy who does the previews?
The Jackrabbits are a pretty good squad with 2 straight tourney appearances. They look like they have two good post players that should give us trouble. Will definitely bet SDSU 1st half and Rebs 2nd half.

Death, taxes, and taking the other team to cover first half

We look like a on the bubble for the NIT team

Man I wish just one year we could get a perimeter defense installed.

Sure don't need to lose this one. Davis has got to stay out of foul trouble.

How is the hell do we get down 23 in the first half at home to South Dakota State? Some things baffle me.

How do we give up 99 points to some team from South Dakota? Is it baseball season yet or are we gonna suck in that too?

After watching all of our games this year, I will say this about our team - our post offense can be very spotty and our shooting as a team can be very streaky.
This is what you run into when your team is built totally around high-efficiency guard play - you can have some nights where your guards just don't shoot the ball too well for long stretches of time, and when you don't have dominant big men down low to take rebounds and get some easy trash buckets to get the offense back on track, your team can suffer. That's why we found ourselves in a 26 point hole.
To be fair - SDSU is a good team and could win their conference. They have gone to the dance like 5 of the last 7 years I think.

Maybe we can figure out how to make stumbles like this few and far between. Certainly can't think tourney doing what we did tonight at home. I get South Dakota was pretty good, but nonetheless. We aren't tourney material right now. Thank God a basketball season lasts forever it seems.

That daum guy just couldn’t miss 6-9 and sink 3s

It's almost like we don't realize we're going to get teams like South Dakota and Middle Tennessee's best shot when they come to us. I know we aren't UK, Florida, South Carolina or even Bama right now, but we are SEC and have a nice building. We have to pick up the energy some and it shouldn't all fall on the coach.

Davis had 2 points at half?

Not sure, but I do know he's fouled out the last two games or at least 2 out of the last 3. That needs to end. He wasn't available at all for the OT.

To me, that's on the coach.

This freaking loss is so maddening. Won’t kill us but when we are yet again a bubble team at season’s end this will be one we can circle that would’ve put us over the edge.

I couldn't agree more.

Love all these other NCAA tourney teams stacking up “quality wins” against us... must be nice to convert on a few of these resume builders every once in a while.
