The drop in rankings came during an injury plagued 2014 for Connor, who suffered a broken leg in his spring game and was hospitalized during the season for a heat-related illness. I’m just even more motivated.” Connor is so motivated that one North Panola assistant coach got a phone call from him Sunday afternoon. The coach was summoned to the school to put Connor through a grueling workout. “I guess I have something to prove,” Connor said. Connor also wanted to clear the air on something else. “I had heard about some rumors floating around a couple of weeks ago,” he said. The rumor was that Connor, a longtime Ole Miss commit, was contemplating flipping his commitment to Mississippi State. He says, emphatically, the rumor was unfounded. “No one has to worry about me flipping to Mississippi State,” Connor said. “I’ve been Ole Miss since I was in ninth grade. That’s not true. Mississippi State is still recruiting me a little bit, but I’m solid with Ole Miss.”
