I'm not sure. I think we are planning to sign 28-30 so I'd guess that means 3-5

Wow, this means that this could potentially be one of, if not the, biggest classes Ole Miss has ever signed.

Also -- if we have a few early departures to the NFL that also opens up scholarships? For like, greyshirting or something.

Anyone take BUTCH101 ?

Didn't Nutt sign like 35 that one year? I think that is probably our record for class size and also class attrition.

Yes that's why they instituted the Nutt Rule correct?

In 2009 we inked 37, according to Rivals. The four-stars in that class had to combine to be the biggest busts we've ever had.

-Tig Barksdale
-Raymond Cotton
-Pat Patterson
-Craig Drummond
-Corey Gaines
-Jamar Hornsby
-Rodney Scott
-DT Shackleford

Thank God for DT.

Pat wasn't a bust. He just loved Marlboro reds and weed too much

He walked into my house one time for a party and I won't lie and say I didn't check for all my valuable the following morning.

It's crazy how different he and Vince's careers were and they were from the same town. Vince just kept his head down and worked his arse off.

I will say I think some of the guys we lost could've had very different outcomes with Freeze instead of Nutt.

Something I love about this staff....We're currently sitting at 5th on the 247 rankings but our highest ranking recruiter is sitting at 19th in Maurice Harris.

It seems as if it's an entire staff recruiting thing instead of just a powerhouse single recruiter.

Vince is one of my favorite receivers we've had. The dude was always open on third down and despite being about 165 always fought for extra yards.

Freeze wouldn't have taken Hornsby and probably wouldn't have taken Barksdale. We haven't been sweating out grade risks as much as we used to under Nutt. We also don't take kids that have bad track records anymore except for ya know, Swag.

I still don't like that we kept him on the roster. I wish we would have just rolled with DK or The Great White Hope.

I unfortunately watched the OM/Aub game this weekend and Vince was killing it.

What is he doing now?

That Arkansas game ruined all confidence I had in either of them. I do think that DK could be electric in a Barry Brunetti role this year though. Buchanan reminds me of a poor man's AJ McCarron - he's going to make every easy throw, not too many game changing ones but he also doesn't make many mistakes.

If Switchblade was our regular quarterback, it would be Randall Mackey all over again.

Eli threw 3 interceptions that led to us losing to a 3 win State team in the Egg Bowl in 2001. One game doesn't define a player.

I agree. Because not only was it one game. But they were backups for the entire season and got thrown into a shitty cold rainy game against a team that was thirsty for a big win.

THAT being said. I'm all for bringing in Kelly. Worse case you kick him off the team. Best case he has the talent to win us the West. We are so loaded with talent this year we have to take that chance. A season like this is why you pay a frick ton of recruits to come and play for you. We took a chance on all of them now it's time to take the chance on a risky QB.

David is getting a bit lazy over at 247. He's asking the subscribers for questions to ask on media day.

Yeah... How terrible that he'd cater to his paying customers...
