One thing I’ll say about defensive players, BV has great culture built. Stone wants to play and pushing to do so. That kid is good and will have a great NFL ahead. Yet still willing to play and sacrifice for the team.

Anything can happen on any given Saturday. The talent gap isn't very big. Just need to pull our heads out of our asses on offense and we will have a puncher's chance

It does kind of feel like one of those spots, doesn't it? Hard to explain, based on what we've seen so far... I hope we see what's typically a 'week 1 to week 2' type of improvement.

Honestly, Brent could have a bad defensive day and I wouldn’t care. I know he can’t hold GA all game because their offense is better than any we faced. And no team can continue to watch their offense shite the bed and still hold teams forever. There has been zero complimentary football. I have zero concerns with defense - because our offense is so bad I could never complain about them even if they dod have a bad day. Like all teams they have small issues mostly from injuries and younger players inserted.

Our real and only issue is offense. I hate we are going into this game so weak on offense. I wanted to have a great game, like our only other game. But offense gives us little hope. Starting with Arbuckle. In Michigan game our RB popped off 8 yard run on 1st. Never got the ball again that series. Then got 7 yards on 1st play of next series. And never got ball again that series.

It changed the game. Had he stayed with ground and pound from the start, we likely win game handily. On the road, over 110k opposing fans yelling and run game is your best weapon. Wear down lD line. Get OLine confidence. Get D to start stacking box. Then you hit em with the play action pass. But nope, Arbuckle put the game in Mateers hands. And then rotated running backs who really are cold because they got no consistent play time. And once we stopped running and didn’t move ball with Mateer, it gave Michigan confidence.

Its amazing how your first few series can change the attitude of the game. Opposing D gained confidence and then when Arbuckle decided to run some, the D was ready for it knowing we couldn’t pass worth a shite. It all failed in those first few series and went downhill.

Then Mateer has played bad as well. He hasn’t found confidence so is making wrong run/pass reads most of the time.

Oline gets lot of blame by pundits but I think its more than that. Mateer scrambles out of good pockets and takes a sack and fans blame oline vice qb. Oline has eyes forward and makes assumptions where qb will be based on play call. When qb scrambles out of pocket the defender can see it but not oline. So scrambles favor defense.

If WRs don’t get separation no where to throw ball. Again, oline has to cover longer.

This is a game where we likely don’t do anything normal. We have nothing to lose. So can afford to take risks. Thats what I expect to see. Likely won’t work but we will have to take many offensive risks to overcome.

And honestly, defense likely will take risks to try and get turnovers. Might break too early on pump fake trying to get a pick 6 and score since O can’t. This likely will result in GA getting some big plays as our D overcommits trying to score and overcome our O.

Its a game where I see us taking many risks on both sides because we are not on position to win doing the same thing we’ve done. GA is too good.
