My first thought too.

I'm a Christian and I think this is idiotic.
I guess this judge thinks every Hispanic named Jesus and everyone named Joshua should have their name changed as well?
Jesus' significance isn't in his name. His true name was "Yeshua", which is VERY roughly translated to Jesus in English. "Jesus" only means the savior in Christianity because English speakers in 2013 say it does.

Religion isn't really the issue here. It's the judicial over-reach. She can be Christian, Hindi, Sikh, Jewish, Scientologist, or worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster. That doesn't matter, as long as they apply the law and judge the issues that appear before them without bias. I'm a Christian, and I think she was absolutely wrong in her ruling and will be overturned.
Nice bait though.

Oh, come on! You know it's a matter of time before that card gets played. Do I think it was racial? No. But someone will.

You know some of the greatest minds in the history of humanity were deeply religious, right?
For instance, Isaac Newton was a devout Anglican who spent much of his life studying and memorizing the bible.

I swear if everyone (white, black, hispanic, etc.) treated race like you do this country would be in a much better place going forward.

We're moving that direction, just at a glacial pace

My progeny will have a healthy outlook on race relations, though. They won't have a choice, the way I see it.

I think parents can name their children whatever they like. I also think kids should be able to change their names when they wish.
Can you imagine the hell poor little Messiah will go through in middle school? Or God? Or Lucifer? Can a young man named Mutherfricker expect to find a job? Can a young woman named countlicker expect to be accepted into nursing school? I think not.

Parents really come up with some shitty names these days.
There is going to be a whole lot of pissed off boys named "Kayden" walking around in about 10 years.

Thank my parents for that one.

Now if I can just get the number of black people that vote Dem under 80%, I will be a happy man

Maybe if they were told the truth about the Democratic party and its truly racist history.

Wouldn't be enough. Need to be told the truth by other black people that are viewed as, uh, "down with the cause," for lack of a better way of putting it.
That, and give them a viable minority candidate to vote for on the GOP ticket.
