I lived in the Ashford dunnwoody, sand springs, and glenridge drive area when I worked downtown.
Glenridge drive is the single most convenient location in all of atl IMO. Few hundred yards to either 400 or 285. Equal distance East or west on 285. Halfway betweend Alpharetta and downtown going either north or south. Cobb county and Decatur not too far east or west. I went out everywhere when I lived in atl and that location was the best in the metro area imo.

I work downtown and it very rarely takes me more than 25 minutes to get to or from work in Dunwoody. I live off the North Peachtree/Chamblee Dunwoody exit on 285. About halfway between 400 and 85, so it's typically 285 west and 400 south in the morning and 85 north then 285 west in the afternoon. It's quiet and safe and we have the Brook Run trails we run just about everyday after work without driving anywhere.

I think the highway traffic ITP is generally exaggerated. 285 and each of the major highways can be an absolute bitch outside the perimeter, though.

Have you've seen the southern part of Forsyth? Mansions all over the place and we're also 5 he healthiest in the state

If you are looking for a good investment just buy anything that is along the beltline. Everything is skyrocketing in value.

I just can't handle Perimeter Mall traffic. I avoid that area at all costs. Not sure why the traffic there bothers me more than anywhere else. Maybe it's all the dumbass teenage drivers

Family living is on the upswing inside the city. Grant Park, Innman Park, Virginia Highland, Cabbage Town, Old 4th Ward, West End, Ponce, unless you can't afford it

Grant Park is a good place to buy right now. Assuming you can get something pretty close to the park.

Just adding my 2 cents...
DONT go too far Outside 285. Traffic is miserable and you'll have to plan around it every day.
That being said, theres some suburbish places close by the perimeter that are pretty nice. I'd try Dunwoody, Johns Creek, Druid Hills, Sandy Springs, Roswell areas if I were you.
There are some good spots in the city if you're comfortable raising a family there too

Why did you choose to live there? Is it because the cities in the Midwest (I'm guessing you're from Kentucky) are all garbage?
