Just sounds like a friendly reminder. Don't want stuff to burn.

I know, right? You'd think the location, cutesy cartoon, and puppy collage would tip most people off, but you'd be wrong.
A lot of people post from their phones and don't see all that

As for why, why not? I'm a girl. Why should I have to pretend I'm a guy/not have something feminine in my screen name when I'm not a guy?

I post on some car forum (another predominantly male web site) and same thing happens there.

I picked my username because ArkLaMiss is the region I'm from, originally, and Missy is my irl nickname. It seemed to be a no-brainer.
How is being a female on a predominately male message board "edgy"? Every sports message board I've been on is predominately male, but I love sports, as well, and enjoy the banter, most of the time.
I haven't gotten any more attention being female, I don't think, than I would if I were a male. The occasional "hardlegging" is to be expected & just goes along with the territory of this kind of forum. I don't take it personally, & don't think too much about it, tbh.

It happens everywhere. Hell, I once considered making a pretend female account to get attention on rainy days

That one kind of sounds ambiguous. At first I thought it was just some guy bragging.
also, I was going to post her, but she isn't showing up in the member list. What happened to DC?
