You guys remember the time all the "church goers" started a thread to bash the folks that don't go to church? Yeah, me neither.

Them damn non-churchies not going to church and stuff. They gonna be damned to the eternal fire and gnashing of teeth and wailing. And they take all the good seats at the Lubies before we can get there. Damn them to hell.

Never understood the whole hipocrite thing... no where in Christianity does it claim to make you a perfect human. We are just beggars showing other beggars where to find the bread.

We are all slaves of the Anukis and Nibiru is commin baw
In all serious though we are slaves to the media and corporate conglomerates in this country. Why do you think everyone in the world hates us? We don't live for God, we have fun and do what the frick we want.

This just in:
Everyone sins... every day of the week.
At least some people try to repent and become better people because of it.

By doing whatever you want to do six days out of a week, and then magically becoming squeaky clean on Sunday?
That's not going to work if you are going to shove your beliefs down my throat whenever you feel religion convicting you.
The term "hypocrite" comes to mind.

Christianity doesn't work that way.

Unfortunately, these type arguments provide opportunity for people to deflect the fact that a persons eternity is there own personal responsibility. On Judgement day, God isn’t going to care what you thought of church people it’s all going boil down to the big decision you made. It’s not popular to say but it’s the truth. Most people are on a happiness quest not a truth quest. If they don’t like what it says or it doesn’t make them happy they find reasons to combat or disregard.

Well said, but you can have both. Most people see Christianity as a set of rules, but it's actually the freedom to live as God intended.

Noooo.... after that Sunday you change what you do the next six days. You grow from mistakes and don’t commit them in the future.

Luckily for church going believers, it is His righteousness that matters and not our own. Because, if it were up to us, "all our righteous acts like filthy rags" in comparison to Jesus.

Just some rednecks who went to church on Sunday, but then drank all day and got arrested for meth. They will be back in church on Sunday, just in time for their other meth-head family member to pay bond upon realization that they need to "get things right."
I don’t know where you’re from, but where I’m from this people don’t go to church.

We're all sinners boss, I worship a forgiving god.
All of my actions I'll have to be accounted for.

Because the church part of the spiritual equation is the method some clever folks used back in the day to wrestle control away from we proles.
Real spirituality is to know ones self first and foremost. You don't need a pastor to teach you how to do that, you just need to learn to quiet your mind.
But, since we do still have church, it is mostly used as a social affair near as I can tell.
Hand a Hindu the Bible and he'll tell you it isn't religion, it's legislation.
ETA: It was always the church that perverted the doctrine. From the very begining. They wouldn't do such a thing? Look at what's going on with the Catholic Church these days. Those folks are the founders of Christianity.
Not that there is anything wrong with church goers. Everyone in my family is devout and they're all wonderful people. I'm devout myself. Just in a different way.
But, even Jesus himself was trying to pass on Eastern philosophy to the people of Judea. The lesson about rendering unto Cesar that which is his is him teaching the folks to embrace suffering in this world for the sake of something better later.
That's Buddhism. Most likely, from the age of 12 til whenever he came back (32?) he was off in the East studying in monasteries with monks and yogis. And when he tells people that the kindgom of heaven lies within and through him, he's saying through YOU. Yourself.

Monday-Saturday is not that long
are you suggesting people simply "not sin" those 6 days? You realize every human sins everyday right? Many believers pray daily for forgiveness, it's not something that is mandated to only be done on Sunday, that's just the holy day where you gather with others for worship so it obviously fits in there nicely.

Il just leave this here. Have any of you ever faced something horrible and asked God for help ? Il bet every single one of you has. If so, who were you talking to in your head? You weren’t asking yourself to help you. So if you say your not a believer then your lieing to yourself. Everybody believes in God. You just don’t want to be boxed in and live by his rules. I’m far from perfect. But I faced something when my son was 10 weeks old. I found God then. I’m still far from perfect. But I believe.
