Kentucky is a beautiful state. Lived there for six years. I would move to the Bowling Green area if I could find a job there.

IMO, Georgia (Savannah), Florida (the beach), and Tennessee around Nashville are the best. All have bad spots and all have amazing spots.

There's a lot I like about all of them. If I ever left Kentucky, it'd be for Tennessee. So similar to Kentucky. But this is home and I love the bluegrass. This is a beautiful state.

I love Missouri but winters suck; Florida is the correct answer

Texas doesn't really have a diverse landscape.

That is a tough one.

NW Arkansas is hands down the nicest place I've ever had the fortune to live in. It is great up there in the hills. A lot of Western Arkansas is pretty darn nice as well.

That having been said large swathes of Arkansas suck. The good is really good here but the bad is really bad.

Top to bottom the best state to live in... I'd say South Carolina. The bad isn't completely horrible and the good is pretty darn good.

Let us call it a split decision. Best area to live would be NW Arkansas and best state to live in would be South Carolina.

States aren't a good geography. Too big.

I love Fayetteville, but I would never live in Pine Bluff or El Dorado.

I could probably live in Austin, but not Longview.

I'd live on the beach in FL, but not Miami-proper or Orlando.

If you have a good income and skills, you can find somewhere "nice" to live in any state. The only states I would never want to live in are Northeast and midwest. Too cold and dreary.

In general, I hate huge metro living. It sucks dick.

ehhh. Not really. I mean, yeah, if you drive several hours in one direction, it will look different after a while. That's true anywhere in the USA. Most of the places people actually live in Texas are flat and boring and hot.

The only real cool landscapes are the Hill Country and the rockies around El Paso.

East TN is NWA on steroids. It's the most beautiful land locked area within the SEC footprint and it's not close.

I think it all depends on what you want out of life.

If you’re a functioning alcoholic foodie who just wants to party, eat, drink, and go to concerts, New Orleans is your Eden.

Texas offers the best economic prospects.

Florida has the best beaches.

Tennessee has tranquil mountains and no income taxes.

It’s all relative to what you want.

True, the mountains are better in E. Tennessee.

NWA has 3 Fortune 500 companies in a two county area, plus a big SEC school. It's an area with access to nature, lots of jobs, lots of nice stuff, and white people still use the public schools.
