Lots of black people
Racist white people
Southern Baptists
Oppressive soul crushing heat and humidity
Poverty
Dilapidated infrastructure
Plantations
The Mannings
Brett Favre
Corruption
Ignorance and poor education
Obesity
Despite all of that I'll say that I've never met a person from Mississippi I didn't like. Most of them here are cool too. I've been there twice (Meridian area) and many of these opinions were formed or confirmed in those visits. I liked the people and thought the rural areas were absolutely beautiful. I could never live there because of the heat and culture but I understand some of the appeal.

Meridian is west Alabama. Judging us by meridian would be like me judging TN from Memphis.
Meridian is horrible. I worked there 2 years with no desire to buy a house..

Know what is sad? 100% not trolling literally nothing comes to my mind when I think of Missouri. I usually don't even associate St. Louis with Missouri. Forget its actually in the state most of the time.

Great looking women are found pretty much statewide, it's not just at Ole Miss, folks. Mississippi has been it's own worst enemy, it slowly starting to change. It's trying to chance, it's trying to stay the same.

All the Flyover States are like this. No character.. There's about 6 states that Napoleon Dynamite could've been filmed in and Missouri fits the bill.

I really like Mississippi. Would I live there? Meh. Do I go there a lot? Yes.

I've traveled alot thru my 20s and have no desire to live elsewhere. I could live anywhere in the SEC other than the expansion states and it wouldn't be much different really..

There isn't a big enough big city is my main thing. Tupelo has been supposed to explode since before I was a freshman and Jackson is Memphis minus the good parts.
My parents just bought a lot near Wommack at the Highlands and are planning to retire and move to Oxford though. So who knows, I may end up there in the future.

I live in the county between Brandon and Flowood and enjoy it. I take the backroads to work in Canton across the top of the rez so it's the best of both worlds kind of..
Went downtown this a.m. and toured a new Brewery in Midtown (behind Millsaps). Man it's shady back there..

I have a vague idea where that is. I've fished the rez(lol alligators) and had a friend get married at a McChurch there. Pinelake maybe?

I was very armed..
I don't know Memphis enough to move freely there anymore. It's changed so much in 15 years..
